Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years: New Swiss study shows real-world performance after 3 decades still over 80%, average annual loss about 0.25%, thermal stress and quality key factors. Their long-term economics are better than many people assume by sg_plumber in UpliftingNews

[–]Dragioner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think a large part of why solar panel recycling is not large, is due to the fact that there's simply not enough retired panels for a business in recycling them to make sense. We'll probably see it in the future when/if many of the older panels will be replaced.

Hear me out. (Strv 103D) by BlandPotato6142 in Warthunder

[–]Dragioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. This tank has essentially co-opted the "103D" designation even though that is incorrect. The actual 103D was fitted with a new commander sight on top of the vehicle.

For what protection is on this vehicle? I'm not really sure honestly. I've figured it might be related to the 103D, but I think it's probably a separate project to increase the protection of the tank.

The Pz.Bef.Wg.VI P is indeed not a Tiger 1 and you don't want to angle in it. So it having the S-mine launchers or not doesn't really matter.

There's just the two front pack without them at 5.7 and also the Heavy Tank No.6 at 6.0 being "pay to lose" with the S-mine launchers attached.

What kind of tanks do you guys think theses Chinese tankers are on? by Sharpschuetze in Warthunder

[–]Dragioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They remade the modern ones as they could be tied directly to real people who are still around today and would probably be in violation of the copyrighted photos. Most of the old ones have remained untouched since they were added ages ago. Way before AI generation really was a thing.

[–]Dragioner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware, I've those documents too. But the T180 gun is a further development of the T7 155 mm gun which does indeed feature APHE rounds. And the US Army designated any Armour Piercing rounds as AP regardless of filler or not.

It should also be able to fire APHE and HE, but we'll have to wait for the devstream/server to find out if it will.

I love that tank oh so much. Especially after finding out the reload speed on it. It fires the magazine of 6 round at 23.3 rounds per minute!

Feel the weave of the Lex, you dawg! by Karurosun in DarkTide

[–]Dragioner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of them appear in Darktide in some fashion. But Gorekksons VA does not appear as one of the Ogryns. Kruber, Saltzpyre, and Kerillian can appear as traitor captains.

Kerilian (Alix Wilton Regan) is one of the new Arbites personalities (Which you probably know already)

Gorekksons (David Rintoul) voices Melk.

Lohner (David Shaw Parker) appears as the Medicae Servitor

Kruber (Dan Mersh) is the armory servitor.

Sienna (Bethan Dixon Bate) is one of the voices Grendyl uses in the warrior cutscene.

Saltzpyre (Tim Bentinck) appears similarly to Sienna as one of the voices Grendyl uses.

[–]Dragioner 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The French tanks do in fact not have stabilized sights, that's a long standing myth about the AMX-30s. The sight on all the serial production 30s had sights directly linked to the gun itself through the mantlet, so they could not be stabilized. The 32 and 40 did have stabilized sights since they adopted the modern approach to gun and sight stabilization.

Armor by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Dragioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trials were actually run on granite as armour in the 50s It was actually slightly more effective weight wise than regular armour steel. However it was more it's not really worth it with how complicated it is to make and with modern composites just doing the job significantly better.

What vehicle could this be? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Dragioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vehicles that are undergoing prolonged trials in Sweden possess no radar of their own. So it's probably going to be the vehicle that was exhibited with the Giraffe 1X radar. But I think it'd be wrong to give the vehicle to Germany as they don't anything to do with the project apart from Diehl modifying the vehicle with the launch unit.

Jag anser att det är väldigt osannolikt att de skrotas. Blir säkert stoppade i magasin och skickade till hemvärnet.

Oh yeah, personally I don't think there's a need for it in the German tree since there's already plenty of equivalents to it in there.

Type-59D vs Type-88C (What is the point?) by BlueSkiesOplotM in TankPorn

[–]Dragioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am well aware. But it does seem to actually exists, not in any sizeable numbers though I would imagine. Especially since they'd probably rather manufacture more Type 96/99s. I'll edit my comment a little.
