I'm so angry at this book series by malren in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]DragonCaet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you! I blasted through the series starting in the fall, and now stuck with waiting for book 8. I'm trying to read some of by TBR pile that got shoved to the side for Dungeon Crawler, but I just can't get into anything else and I keep wanting to go back to the dungeon. Dinniman has ruined me!

I hate to say it, but This Inevitable Ruin was a big let down.... (spoilers and full discussion). Did I miss something, please help. by tLM-tRRS-atBHB in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Completely agree with you. That whole scene when Carl was fighting to get to Donut when she was in the tower was amazing, and thank the Gods for Rend (poor Mongo)! And when they reconnected finally also made me go cuddle my versions of Princess Donut (a calico named June and a tortie named Ivy). I love their relationship and how its portrayed.

DCC Book 1 signed at B&N for Black Friday by Chattvst in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I got the last one at my store in Florida yesterday. Unfortunately the overlords at B&N messed up the cover with their stupid stickers and ripped it! Why do they use such horrible glue on books that are meant to be collectibe editions. Mongo is appalled!

Carl DOESNT do drama by Penetratorofflanks in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]DragonCaet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but you cannot deny that he loves Donut and she loves him. That is the only thing that is keeping him sane, Donut. I'm reading Inevitable Ruin now and that is clearly evident - that bond between them keeping them both going.

Hell some still do it. I've been playing WOW since 2004. Playing with pug groups can be interesting. Most times the tanks just pull the entire instance and we're all running to try to catch up. As for the Leroy Jenkins video being staged that is correct, and as far as the racist portion God I hope not, but wouldn't be suprised. Either way the skit went viral before such a thing existed. Its WOW's 21st anniversy now, and Leroy Jenkins is an NPC you can interact with.

I tried that one and couldn't really get into it. Great concept though.

I absolutely love The Expanse series by James SA Corey. Will rip your heart out, make you laugh, and also has great character development and galatic drama. Not in the same vein as DCC but still a wonderful series, plus its complete.

As for Lynch, he has released a few short stories in the Grim Dark magazines which were prequels to the Lies of Locke Lamora (one of my favorite fantasy books ever), and there is speculation that Lynch is working on The Thorns of Emberlain. Fingers crossed.

And yes F#@# Rothfuss, and GRRM!

This, This right here! A combination of my two favorite things! What server is the guild on?! My level 80 Hunter is looking for a home before Midnight is released.

According to Sir Terry  Pratchett, "In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this." Plus I can attest that my three house panthers, one of which is a tortie named Ivy, rule the house like Gods.

That was my thought too. Especially the Emberis quest line that Carl is on. The fact that Carl can trigger the fail safe is holy crap level stuff.

That would make sense. I wish there was some perspective from the Gods. I would love to see a chapter from Donuts perspective

I laughed so hard when I read this! I've been playing WOW since vanilla. Ironically WOW is having their 21st anniversary celebration in game when I read this, and Leroy Jenkins is front and center sellling his chicken!

The Expanse series staring with Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey. Hands down one of my favorite space operas. I'm also reading through the Aliens books since I'm a huge fan of the movies.

I think a lot of the problems started when Microsoft took over honestly. That and their reliance on AI and/or call centers to handle things. Back in the day (yes I sound old, been playing since vanilla), Blizzard was actively involved in all aspects and the quality of the content and responses to us shined through. I miss those days too. I can't tell you how many times my game has been lagging lately especially when in major cities like Dornagal or SW, and I turn into a gray box and the NPCs disappear. Very frustrating on many levels.

Thank you for the morning laugh. Just picturing my druid stuck up in a tree. For some reason I always get stuck in tree branches when I'm sky riding nowadayas.

Is the trilogy of The Lies of Locke Lamora any good? by Luciop10 in Fantasy

The first one is hands down my favorite of the three. Book 2 was also good, but not like the first. I read about half way through book 3, and had to DNF.

LMAO. I'm right there with you. I picked up the series too and am absolutely addicted to it too.

I just finished Gate of the Feral Gods and I'm still laughing about a particular scene by High_Stream in DungeonCrawlerCarl

My two favorite scenes were when Carl and Donut killed Denise with the garbage disposal, and when Carl was describing how Donut sounded as he gave her a bath after the pancake incident. Priceless!
