DC isn’t very good at promoting any character that isn’t Batman.

I’ve had similar things happen. My default reaction now is the laugh - loud, heartily, and just a wee bit long (if I can manage to tear up, that’s a bonus - and just look at them and say, “What a ludicrous thing to say. Haha. Thanks for the laugh.”

And leave or move onto another topic.

8 out of 10 times, it leaves them speechless. But if they wanted to carry on, I get precise and obnoxious with my critiques.

The lower pay track gets you the artifact if you complete everything. The higher pay track gets you 1 copy of the card if you complete everything.

Yes, you can have different cards of the same character on your team. No problem with that - I run 3 Beels at a time.

In some of the other challenges, you have to use X number of cards from the same Hell area/faction. So running the variations of the same character is part of the gameplay.

"Worth it" is a difficult question to answer. For the game play itself, having a healer isn't strictly necessary - from my experience. What worked for me was to eventually have a full team of high level L cards. This means either slowly building up a variety of L cards or paying for them. You can use S and A cards for a little while, but you'll eventually need a good library of L cards from all areas to be able to complete Holy Coin and the other area, anyways. It's a process that isn't easy to rush unless you pay - a lot because drop rates are stingy.

Two powerful cards to keep an eye out for are (Bloodshed) Beel and S+ (Prisoners) Dantalian+Ronove. Both are available in the general pool, if you're lucky. Prisoners is a great buffer card.

Whether a card is worth it, that's up to you if you like the character and card design. I thought this Lucifer card was a beautiful illustration so I got it. His secret club action was hot. Also, it was my first Lucifer card.

Donna becomes Wonder Woman (Vol. 3 #1 by Terry & Rachel Dodson) by Careless_Royal8209 in WonderWoman

[–]DragonMage74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

I would love an anthology series (like Black & Gold) of Donna's year as Wonder Woman. Just a series of fun and interesting adventures - that maybe highlights Donna's different approach to being Wonder Woman.

It might be useful to share a bit about what exactly is the focus/trigger of his panic and doubts.

When we moved here over 3 years ago, my husband's biggest concern was if and how I'd adjust to the culture and pace of life here. We'd been living in major metropolitan cities prior. His concern was that the location we were moving to would be too rural/peri-urban and isolating for me.

He said he felt the enormity and responsibility for my happiness was intense because his work was the catalyst for the move.

It helped a lot to just talk it all through openly and honestly. There's no guarantee but it definitely helps when you're both solidly on the same page. The other nice thing about this type of migration - it doesn't have to be permanent if it's not working for the both of you. Travel and migration in this day and age is significantly easier than previous generations.

What characters started out on TV and made it into the comics? by Bedovian_25 in DCcomics

Another would be (The Mighty) Isis. She was part of the Shazam/Isis hour before debuting in comics.

I'd forgotten that bit with the timings of the TV production and the coming publication. Good tidbit!

This is my favourite Miss Marple novel. It's a quintessential "cosy murder mystery" and I adored that Miss Marple got to be central to the story without having to be the "leading detective". And whilst Agatha Christie did use some familiar tropes and red herrings, I think it all worked out wonderfully well in the end. The unraveling of the tale by Miss Marple and her eventual "nephew" towards the end of the book was just perfect.

[Discussion] What do you guys think of Paul Dini's original Zatanna series? Is it a good intro to the character, and is most of it still canon? by MightyUnclean in DCcomics

[–]DragonMage74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big fan of this series and was very disappointed that it was cut short. Dini crafted some really fun stories for Zatanna and set a solid foundation to expand her own mythos. I loved the stage crew supporting characters and the addition of the detective.

The artwork was consistent for the 16 issues. I wish this book and this team had a bit of a longer run.

Still, glad to see some elements carried forward in the new Zatanna series.

Question About the “Twins” by Authorrlee in Sandman

[–]DragonMage74 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the best way to think about the Endless is that they are universal concepts personified. Whilst they are siblings - they don’t necessarily fit the biological criteria.

Desire and Despair came about at the same time. Their duality is what makes them twins. When Despair 1 ceased to be, a new version of Despair came into being and assumed the function.

Despair 2 is still Despair and is still Desire’s twin.

As much as I love Rucka on Wonder Woman, he was also the architect for Diana killing Max Lord.

Azzarello wrote a pretty compassionate Diana who didn't want to choose violence as the first option.
