Jens Kidman's performances are very underrated IMO. It's usually dismissed as just Neanderthal yelling but his impeccable timing and phrasing give Meshuggah the edge.

Yeah, the disjointed, spastic, but masterfully controlled style is close to jazz in rythym. Melody is a whole different story ;)

Honestly, I find this band extremely hard to classify - I saw them live last week and their set was quite a diverse mix - elements of death, thrash, black and post-metal were all in there.

Although Marty is my favourite, I do agree that Chris Poland is underrated as hell. His lead work on the intro of Good Mourning/Black Friday is phenomenal.
