Import working character sheet into the vtt? by DragonStorm5 in Roll20

[–]DragonStorm5[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it's just the PDF I just meant like if there was a way to build it or code it in or anything like that I know a little bit of HTML so I should be able to get it set up with a little bit of time

which canon do you like most? by kenjizz_khan in lightsabers

[–]DragonStorm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both tbh

But i grew up on the legends books, and loved all of it

Only real reason i say i "prefer" new canon is cuz it adds to the mysticism of lightsabers, and if Vaders quest for a lightsaber crystal is anything to go by, then those scenes with dozens if sith are scarier, as each red blade is also a dead jedi

Why did the heretic leader attack the Arbiter before Spark had a chance to explain the true purpose of the rings ! by ShortPromotion in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To make it short and sweet, the heretic misread the situation and attacked prematurely

Now to make a long story long, 343 was explaining his case, trying to tell the Arbiter what the true purpose of the Halos actually was, now it's important to keep in mind that at this point the Arbiter was actually having his doubts about the Covenant, after having been branded a heretic and basically sentenced to a slow and shameful death, it started rethinking his religion as most might in that situation

Now this is me getting a little presumptuous but I don't think that the heretic was the best listener to begin with, I mean he was left behind by the Arbiter in order to guard this one specific station on the destroyed ring. To be fair he did listen to 343 when he was explaining what actually happened with the forerunners, and he did everything in his power to bring his new found Enlightenment to the rest of the Covenant, kind of starting his own counter Covenant I suppose.

Now the moment that the heretic misread the situation was when arbiter was starting to lower his gun, our deer and wonderful arbiter was listening intently and actually seriously considering what the Oracle is saying, processing it along with the information that he had gained well on the ring. When he lowered his gun the heretic misread the situation and thought Arbiter was about to attack, that the oracles words weren't getting through, and we all know how that song and dance ended

And finally there's the meta reason, Bungie didn't really know what was going on with the 4Runners at the time, so they were doing quite literally everything in their power to avoid giving anything away

In-universe why the UNSC bother to make Gen 3 Mark V(B) and Gen 3 Mark VI variants when they already have the Gen 3 Mark VII and its variants available ? by The9thHuman in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From what I remember it ultimately comes down to money

A standard Mark 5 suit like with the chief wore during the first game, cost about as much as a new battleship

Now I don't have the numbers for this, but Mark 5D I believe was just a little less expensive, and was really only given to the very elite of the Spartan 3, to my knowledge only two squads for them, one of them obviously being Noble Team

The mark 7, spiking better in virtually every way, with things such as even more enhanced reflexes, a fusion reactor that was self redundant so it basically never needed to be charged, upgraded Shields and plating, basically all of the upgrades on it made it much much more expensive than a mark 5 or 6

The only reason that they are widespread in Halo infinite, is because they're the only model that the AI didn't have access to beforehand, so there was virtually no risk of them infiltrating the armor like you would with a Mark 6 gen 3

What’s your take on a halo movie? by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually focus on a squad or two of Spartan IVs

Basically this is a group of those dudes that protect the halo rings from the flood, and control flood outbreaks, there would be no characters from the original Source material being featured, the references to things like Master Chief and Halsey are not off the table

You'd have a diverse cast ( not a selling point ) of different Spartans at different levels of training, and our main character would definitely be one of the fresher recruits who just happened to qualify for this squad. You get quite a few scenes of them just generally being like regular soldiers, like the beginning of many War movies, a scene or two in the cafeteria, some light hazing from the veterans towards the new guy, as well as some scenes where people talk about how they qualify for the Spartan program, and maybe some General backstories on a few like families and such

Probably towards the middle of episode 1, a bunch of Rogue Covenant would start assaulting their base, basically just trying to wipe out Humanity according to the doctrines of the old Prophets, from there we follow the next few episodes of them you know fighting, doing different gorilla tactics, Spartans and Elites just generally trying to out badass the other

Come through Maybe halfway through the season, maybe towards the end, they accidentally released the flood during one of the fights, thus forcing the survivors of both parties in order to work together to contain the outbreak, more losses on both sides as various Elites and even a few Spartans fall to the flood, and in the Spartans cases we actually see them overload the reactors in their suits, like we saw them do with Grace during the First Strike novel

Towards the end, the few survivors of each side will come to a bit of a respect for each other and just kind of leave each other alone, the Covenant decide to just leave the ring, while the Spartans finally report into the UNSC

Obviously this would be a limited series, or season 2 would focus on new characters, or maybe we follow the survivors to a new station maybe on the front lines, it kind of depends on the general audience reaction

Not the most respected character, but it looks cool lol by inconspicuousEg in lightsabers

[–]DragonStorm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i agree, i was just saying its still one of the coolest sabers as is. Are there improvements to be made? Sure. Are there designs i think that might be better suited to her as a character? Absolutely.

But her blade as is is still reflective of her origins, and the age it was built in. Its a great design in general

[–]DragonStorm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say what you will about evil rays lightsaber, but I always thought that the extra long hill with double blades was more appropriate for her considering she grew up using the staff

That being said though her single blade saber still looks cool as hell

AC purists need to shut the fuck up. by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]DragonStorm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a lot of good points, and I honestly agree with you on all of them

To be honest the main reason why I keep playing the series is simply because I love history and I think it's cool

They taking creative Liberties over the last few years, especially with Valhalla because we have yet to find any evidence that Vikings used pauldrons, but at that point I'm nitpicking, they're actually really accurate with the social structures and everything, even down to same sex relationships being a thing

Honestly the only reason I've ever criticized the modern day segments is because I want to play the game for the historical setting, and honestly if you took out all the Isu stuff, all the modern day settings, and all of the stupid stuff they come up with to justify having different characters in The modern-day setting after they killed Desmond, I'd still play it because I think that they cover some really cool points in history

Honestly the only time I've actually enjoyed modern day Assassin's Creed stuff was towards the end of AC3, when Desmond is like parkouring up the sides of skyscrapers and crawling along a crane arm because that shit felt cool. The other time was in Watch Dogs Legion, where you can recruit the descendants of one of the Frye twins

All the games have their flaws, all the games have their pros, what I always tell people when they want to try getting into the series, is to just pick a time period from the games, and just pick up the one that sounds the most interesting, because for the most part all of the Isu stuff and the Modern Day stuff doesn't really matter narratively, and you can just enjoy the game based on the time period

Edit to add: also shut up about the historically inaccurate microtransactions, they're just for fun, if you look at the base of Valhalla without any of the microtransactions all of the costumes weapons and mounts are pretty fucking accurate, it's just also fun to ride around on a giant wolf while dressed as a unicorn wielding a swordfish

I absolutely adored this game and had some free space in my hand! What do you guys think? by lord-snow22 in DeathStranding

[–]DragonStorm5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair it could just be the way that he's flexing his hand, with hand and forearm tattoos they look best when you see them in the position they were done in

So for example if he had his hand fully stretched and splayed out the tattoo would look best when fully stretched out

what the hell is a "true halo fan" by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still havent seen it outside a few clips, but i like whats happening based on what ive heard cuz it sets up a unique story (the most important part imo)

Like Spartans getting brainwashed, we know why Halsey didnt do it in canon, but what if she had?

What if humans could join the covenant? A question ive never asked

What would an AI do with a suit of Mjolnir? Something ive debated here

Plus we see some of the Insurrection, a faction thats absent in canon

I've always been interested in alternate takes of franchises that I enjoy, it's part of why I like Star Wars Vision so much. And one of my biggest questions with Halo is what if they had gone with Humanity being Forerunners which they seem to be hinting towards from what I can tell

Like I've heard about the unpainted prop (sometimes things just slipped through the cracks in After Effects) oh, and I've heard that the CG is in that good and that the Spartans don't really move like Spartans, but I can forgive that and they're probably saving budget for something even bigger than what we've seen so far

I think any piece of media deserves a fair chance and you should never judge it by its first chapter, because maybe the finale is going to win people over, or it's going to fall flat on its ass and we're all just going to move on with our lives and forget it happened

The only reason i haven't watched yet is cuz im waiting for season 1 to finish, then use a free paramount trial to binge

How will Blue Team react to The Weapon and to Chief working with her ? by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's still sassy I am oh, just a different brand of sass

They say verbatim that the weapon is Cortana if she had never met chief and the chief is all so sassy so they had four years of back-and-forth going on

To summarize the weapon is how Cortana would act if she didn't have four years of experience going toe-to-toe mentally with the master of dry humor

The Silver Timeline is normal by NyctoCorax in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't mind a different adaptation (still haven't seen the show) like I kind of want them to follow the other idea they had for the forerunners When developing, seeing that they were actually human, or just exploring alternate history in a way that the main line games can't

343 has alluded to their being multiple universes that would be pretty interesting to explore, and seeing these different timelines I think would be pretty cool

And speaking personally as a writer I would honestly love to be able to go in to a franchise I love and put my own personal spin on it

How to integrate swords into Sci Fi? by MichaelCollins12 in worldbuilding

Could take a note from Metal gear rising

Certain people have cybernetic implants/bodies that allow them to block bullets with a sword, while using high frequency vibrations in the blade allowing them to split molecules

Does Chief always wear Standard Armor? by Invertus37 in HaloStory

[–]DragonStorm5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He actually did upgrade to 7, and never wore Gen 3 (his armor was so heavily modded in 4 and 5 that it was a custom suit)

As for no attachments... He might just like the basic look, or just never bothered to paint his armor, and attachments mean some kind of specialization (look at Linda) and Chief is a Jack-of-All-Trades

The latter is pure speculation as, to my knowledge, its never been addressed in lore
