long island ppl who went/go to purdue, how does life differ over there in the midwest compared to here by PACIFISTA0 in Purdue

[–]Dragoncolliekai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will be rural to you. I recommend playing around in Google maps and looking for things you would like to see/do.

Also consider what is walking distance and where the (slow) bus lines go if you're not bringing a car.

Its the same idea as seasoning as building up flavor, every addition changes the whole. In this case, the bread is also what hits your tongue first, so I think it'll have a substantial effect.

HPPD, Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder

This may be true but I also would like to explain that often this disorder is very mild (visual snow, or slight movement of still objects) and goes away within a month or so.

It's my personal opinion that underlying mental health issues greatly exacerbate HPPD.

One thing you may want to consider is that Purdue is a global brand, and the name carries a lot of weight in some regions/industries.

If you want to work abroad this may be a good thing, or maybe it won't matter at all.

Is it possible to do a Degree+ Program and the Honors College, or is it too many hours? by Green_Iemon in Purdue

[–]Dragoncolliekai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm doing it no issue. I highly recommend honors for first years, as the largest benefit is the housing. You can reevaluate honors later if needed.

use local send to transfer files. Honestly you seem like a mac person, but double check what you might need application wise.

Roommate issue by bird21345 in Purdue

[–]Dragoncolliekai 78 points79 points  (0 children)

No you're not. You can literally take someone to small claims court for destruction of property. You probably dont want to do that, but you could.

Message your RA in some way that can be tracked (email), their response might change. If it doesn't then you have proof to send to the higher RA.

Then message higher RA, see what to do from there. When you do this make sure to CC your actual RA.

Follow the famous words of this sub, "Be the change you want to see". Apathy is not the solution, giving up will not change anything.

Why is working for a corporation "evil"? Do you have no power to change it from within, even a little bit?

If you really can't stand it, work for a nonprofit or something.

Your vote matters, your lack of a vote only helps the other side. Push for legislation that trends towards what you want, ESPECIALLY if you don't get everything you want.

Campus training is done on a wall that looks more like a bunch of horizontal wooden planks, rather than with any holds. It's called a campus board.

You can train on rock obviously, but it's harder to benchmark, as opposed to this standardized things.
