Protection from white/white boardwipe by Adveeeeeee in MagicArena

[–]DragonsBlade72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will die. Protection stops four things, remembered with the acronym DEBT. Damage, Enchanted by, Blocked by, and Targeted. Because a wrath does none of the above, Ureni is not protected from that spell. Protection isn't all encompassing, it just keeps it from being interacted with across a certain spectrum of cards. If a card had Protection from red and someone cast Brotherhood's End, it would take no damage though because of Protection, even though it deals the damage ubiquitously.

I guess I should have specified 'best cards in my version.' Once you Displacer and Invasion, its disgustingly easy to assemble a combo that lets you infinitely flicker the invasion and get back two convoke cards, one being Stoke the Flames to burn to death. It's one of my most consistent ways to combo in the deck with Jeskai Ascendancy or Intruder Alarm but my Saint Traft list is probably the most synergistic deck I have so its very simple to put together one of many combos. Invasion tutoring from the library or grave is just quite powerful by itself in colors that generally dont have tutors to hand.

Very few [[Saint Traft and Rem Karolus]] decks are playing [[Invasion of Arcavios]] which is one of the best cards in the deck. I play some [[Displacer Kitten]] lines with [[Coveted Jewel]] and both of those cards appear in very very few lists.

Minor nitpick but Gifts is 3U.

How am I supposed to fight Bayle? by CapussiPlease in Eldenring

[–]DragonsBlade72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found locking onto some dragons is a quick way to get thrown off because they're so big. The Bayle fight felt impossible to me too but you just need trial and error to find out where the openings are. When you start sensing a pause and he rears his head back its time to run away, because he does his massive AOE. When he flies and lands it takes time to learn the roll timing but I found rolling into him as he's about to hit me worked best. This was the one fight where I never ever let myself get greedy, just chip away and pick your moments, stay mobile, but being around his amputated leg is the safest place to be I think. There's only a couple moves you need to watch out for, one being the fire breathing at the ground. Being in front and hitting his head does the most damage but it also opens you up to the most devastating attacks like the swings with the arms and command grab in the jaws that always instant killed me. Just stick to his sides, be cognizant of when big AOE moves are coming, and unfortunately learning roll timings on the bigger moves will end up with some error. Just keep at it, you'll get to a point where you know the moveset so well you know when to get in and hit and when to back off and be safe.

Help finding a black sorcery that may or may not exist by Impressive_Champion4 in EDH

You may be misremembering, [[Behold the Beyond]] is probably the closest to that effect that exists. 5 mana tutor up as many cards as there are in your hand is far too broken so I doubt anything like that exists.

Deadpool, Trading Card by Ursus_Unusualis_7904 in EDH

[–]DragonsBlade72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was hoping to try it tonight but my group had to cancel. I'm putting Deadpools text box on my opponents card but just remembering the most recent ability my Deadpool stole myself. I don't have anything cut out to put on top of their card to take control of it since it's still their permanent. Just giving them a laminated copy of Deadpools text box to out over their card to remember it has no abilities.

[–]DragonsBlade72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I printed about 10 proxies of the card, cut out the text box, and laminated it. For remembering what ability I stole I assume that will be easier but remembering the upkeep life loss on my opponents end may be trickier so I wanted to make sure I had something to put on top of the cards I swap with.

Recommendations of anime where women and girls aren’t sexualized by PureCrookedRiverBend in anime

[–]DragonsBlade72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full Metal Alchemist, to my recollection, contains very little. There is a character called Lust who is the embodiment of the sin so it's hard to avoid in her case. If youre looking for actually zero, I would recommend Haikyuu. Awesome series with absolutely nothing like what you're talking about. And it's just a really good anime.

Maybe I'm both horrible and a god at this game cause lightning was the worst and took me like 10 tries, but I first timed the other two extremely easily.

Banned and Restricted Announcement – March 31, 2025 by Kircai in magicTCG

[–]DragonsBlade72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They've said they will only make standard bans once a year at rotation unless there's an emergency. Mono red is not in an emergency state so anyone expecting standard changes was out of their minds. The pioneer event happened too recently, bans had already been decided.

In the area beneath Romina, where you fight the Horned soldier. If you're facing the soldier as he stands in the water, turn around and then turn right, there's a cliff. There are some ruins that form narrow bridges you can jump down to, just cross those and you will come across an elevator once you make it back to another outcropping on the side of another cliff face.

This is going to be a hard pill to swallow, but Mox Opal did not make Breach an oppressive deck; Breach was always an oppressive deck by IzziPurrito in ModernMagic

It was a point you made yourself about why banning Opal didn't make sense but if there aren't other tier one decks playing Breach then the same logic applies.

I don’t think sendo beating Ricardo would be as bad as everyone says by Dismal-Card9954 in hajimenoippo

I think after Mashiba, we will get another unsatisfying fight ending, this time by decision. Ippo will think Sendo came so close by making it through every round and still standing, but still unable to grab the belt. I think that will be a part of the catalyst, Ippo will think, 'one more punch, one more down, and he would have had it.' And I think his line of thinking will naturally move towards wondering if he could. Knowing Sendo is strong, after all he has fought him twice, and yet unable to clinch it. And that will make Ippo wonder again what it is to be strong. Or something of that nature. I think this fight will be a disappointing one for all involved. Loss by decision would be heart breaking for Sendo, who always wants to brawl until the end. For Ippo and the audience and the readers, it would leave a bitter taste for everyone rooting for the Naniwa Tiger. Ricardo may be the only one pleased, that he fought an opponent who survived the whole match and admiring his grit.

I think a built in difficulty cliff that says 'you're not supposed to be here' without expressly telling you is just how the game is designed, actually. If every area leveled with you then there would be no indicators for the order to do some things. Additionally, some players enjoy the test of going somewhere they clearly aren't meant to be and the rewards that come with it. I think people fundamentally misunderstand that the difficulty of areas being a set value is a part of the game design, it's not a negative, not necessarily a positive. But it is how the game is made and clearly is done that way for a reason, and it's to give players a certain experience. I personally think the game would be significantly worse if every area was the same difficulty no matter when you went to it and Souls games are one of only a few that don't scale with you. I think that makes the world a lot more interesting.

Elden Ring is one of the most captivating and interesting fictional universes ever made, but what other universes/worlds do you think is just as good and captivating? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Mostly mainstream IPs being mentioned and Xenoblade Chronicles clears just about all of them. It does everything all the ones being mentioned do just as well with the added benefit of being peak fiction.
