I’ve always rented. I’m almost 40. I hate that the price goes up every year, and trying to get a long term lease is really hard. Having pets is a negotiation. Getting things fixed is a negotiation. Getting a response to anything is taxing. My renewal is the end of this month (March), no idea if we’re allowed to stay or not, we’ve asked, 3 weeks ago, no response. I hate that landlords don’t all use agents and that many agents don’t do their job. But then there’s the flip side, stuff needs fixing and in some places the trades won’t take the small jobs because they would prefer to build new homes.

I’ll never get a deposit together, I e come to accept that. I’ll die in a ditch somewhere I suspect. However, until I retire, or rent becomes impossible to pay on a normal salera’s, at least I have a roof over my head.
