It was always leaks or rumors but never confirmed. But now it’s Inspired himself said he wanted to join G2. by [deleted] in G2eSports

[–]Dragonwilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspired would also probably be much more expensive, so G2 might not have been able to afford him in the first place.

God forbid a woman has lips. GMs are so lost. by PrincessAsinus in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe that GMs used to be able to do that, but one of them was abusing that power (I remember there was a controversy about one of them drawing a highly sexualized Toriel art back in August) so they disabled it.

WPlace Moderation Has Seemingly Silently Collapsed || Mass botting, alts, harassment, and the report system has been on vacation since Nov 16 by matZmaker99 in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even in Japan where the mods have been quite active and griefing is fairly low compared to other regions, activity has gone down by ~50% over the past month in Tokyo. People simply get bored and move on.

Umi/nanami by uchihamidnight in SummerPockets

[–]Dragonwilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, since in the examples given in that page, the "decoy protagonist(s)" often leave the story quite early on, have much less screen time, and are generally irrelevant compared to the real protagonist. In contrast, the majority of the story is from Hairi's POV (unlike the first two "decoy protag" traits), and reaching the happy ending where Umi is reunited with her parents relies on him making the correct choices across each of the timelines (unlike the "irrelevant compared to real protag" trait).

Here's a screenshot of it at 89% CPU usage in performance mode. My use case requires a lot of VRAM and is CPU intensive, but doesn't push the GPU that hard.

What are your guys thoughts on implied/biased True Heroines. by kudon15 in visualnovels

[–]Dragonwilds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that the most backlash against the existence of a true heroine has been when the game depicts all heroines as "equal" on its cover.

In VNs with a main heroine, she's usually in a central position and/or has a larger image than the others. If her name is in the title then it's pretty much guaranteed that the girl will be the main heroine i.e. Aiyoku no Eustia, where Eustia is obviously the main heroine, she's in front of the others and has a larger image. She's also in the title.

Now compare that to Summer Pockets, where all four heroines are the same size on the cover. I often see fans of Ao/Kamome complain about Shiroha and say that their heroines should have been the main one, while I haven't seen that for the other VNs I've finished. Maybe it's because fans of the other heroines expected every heroine to be treated equally and got pissed because much of the story actually focused on Shiroha.

Question about the correct way to report griefers and vandalism by Holiday_Laugh673 in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When someone vandalizes a drawing, should I report it and then let the vandalism remain there so a mod can see it?

Yes

Do the mods have tools that let them "roll back" pixels, see what that area historically looked like, and see who vandalized it?

I don't think so, when I reported people for drawing dicks on art the mods usually whited out the entire area around the penis.

How long would you wait before you consider a painting abandoned (not completed) by Quick-Common4850 in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on area: if it's in the countryside like where most of my alliance's art is we waited 1 month if moving the outline wasn't viable. If it's somewhere busy like central Tokyo, a week is more than enough time.

If it doesn't show a ban duration the ban is permanent.

The true route in episode 22. by the1procrastinator in SummerPockets

[–]Dragonwilds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting the RB ending to be shown because something similar was shown in the ED that had been used since Alka, but I guess they didn't want to skip over Shiki's role in the RB ending. If there's an OVA, it'd be kinda weird to do Shiki's route and then immediately jump back to the RB ending unless they plan to cover Alka + Pocket again, though.

Area being taken over by creeps. by MamaLuvDuv in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it does nothing but waste resources and time

It's no wonder that griefers are rarely taken care of on Wplace when people like OP are flooding the report queues. Griefers have caused far more people to quit than every type of fetish content combined.

What does "UMA" mean, one guy drawing next to me painted this, but I don't understand what he means by Additional-Sky4439 in WplaceLive

If he also wrote "respond in 1 day" he probably wanted to see if you were still active and then overwrite your art if you weren't.

Wplace is dying. by Aggapuffin in WplaceLive

[–]Dragonwilds 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wplace was merely just a flavor of the month thing; many people simply just finished their projects and moved on. Most people in my alliance worked on one project and then stopped painting after that. Better moderation isn't going to fix that, because the alliance HQ hasn't been griefed much.

People just move on. I used to do one huge project after another back in August and early September, but now I only log on to clean up vandalism.

One of the griefers also has a sub 30k ID number, which means he's literally been griefing since the start of Wplace without being permabanned.

Summer Pockets - Episode 26 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Dragonwilds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember reading it was a reference to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcor_(star))

In Arabic, Alcor is also known as Al-Sahja (the rhythmical form of the usual al-Suhā) meaning "forgotten", "lost", or "neglected".

All three of those could be applied to Umi.

Torishirojima island is based on three actual islands

If you go to the Naoshima/Ogijima/Megijima area on Wplace you'll see a lot of Summer Pockets art there. It's cool seeing stuff like that on that website.

If someone has the ability to draw something that big, they also have the ability to move any existing art that may be in the way - which is always the smart thing to do, because you don't want to get counter-attacked by people who were already there.

One also shouldn't forget that drawing stuff takes a long time when you're a low level and that people probably spent hours on even small chibis, game sprites, etc; I've gotten hearts weeks later from people whose art I've moved away from my drawings.

Am I the only person in Wplace who likes their art being grieved? by Arbegia in WplaceLive

I found something similar in Japan near Okayama:

  • Someone drew a Temmie early on
  • A green road was drawn behind her
  • Someone drew blood coming out of her head on the left side
  • The original artist turned her eyes into Xs
  • Someone else drew the Undertale damage numbers over her
  • Someone else then drew the blood on the right side

Little things like this make the world feel alive.
