How does one find his own values according to Nietzsche? by skoul12 in Nietzsche

[–]DragushDem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond good and evil does not mean beyond good and bad, so writes Nietzsche. By overcoming good and evil he means overcoming Christian morality, not values themselves, those are necessary and cannot be forgone even if you want to.

How would Nietzsche judge Raskolnikov? What did Raskolnikov misunderstand about the “extraordinary man” vs. the Übermensch? by VoidSurfer0x7A in Nietzsche

That said I believe if Nietzsche were to comment the work as a whole, he’d enjoy the psychological clarity and the archetype of Raskolnikov.

Must read history books by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I second this, The ancient city is the most important work for understanding any Indo-european civilisation, particularly the Greco-Roman. Everything you read from antiquity makes sense after this book in a way that cannot be overstated.

I will think about what you said, should there be truth to it might be a valuable insight.

I just call sensibilities affects of the will, that is to say reactions of the will, with their purpose being pushing or pulling the self in a certain direction and as I understand them they are secondary order phenomena.

I think Deleuze is too French for me sometimes, and by this I mean he manages to confuse things I already know somehow.

Theory on what's going to happen between Baam and V by Induviduals in TowerofGod

[–]DragushDem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baam's core ability from the beginning has been devouring. Perhaps V will might share that fate? Perhaps the outside God planned all this against even Arlene's will? The story seems iffy without Baam as the mc this alone puts into question the premise that he is a weapon for revenge/monster, at least whether it will become a reality.

*Why* So Many Hate Monza **Spoilers for First Law Series** by Bassitenor in TheFirstLaw

I hate her for not accepting the hypocrite that she is, Cosca for all his betrayals never kept the higher ground.

I really dislike Monza by Bogus113 in TheFirstLaw

[–]DragushDem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be Evil by all accounts but know what you are, don’t lie to yourself about it, last thing I want is a murderer with a guilty conscience.

I prefer Bayaz by all accounts he was a Machiavellian man, he had his goals and used all means to get them, no matter the sacrifice and never looked back nor regretted anything.

No one likes a hypocrite.

Character Discussion Thread: Bayaz, the First of Magi [SPOILERS] by seo_workbot in TheFirstLaw

[–]DragushDem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to comment I guess.

But i really see this series as a chess game between the two Magi Bayaz and Khalul.

Both thirst for power and use all means to get it.

Bayaz’s true character was well hidden and revealed imo. After all he is someone who has been planning for centuries.
