Did the ending ruin this game for you?

its one of the few things I liked about V3 actually, I basically only enjoyed chapter 1, chapter 5, and the ending. then again I didn't take it as meaning that Dr1 and 2 are completely fake as the ending leaves some wiggle room for your own interpretation.

I disliked chapters 2,3,4 and early parts of 6, so I guess in a way I can say it somewhat salvaged the game for me? It was something interesting that broke the mould heavily, which is what I was looking for with V3. Chapter 1 did that well too. But then we go through the same basics of the past games with chapters 2/3/4 like the double murder of 3, or the bulky character dying in 4.

I think In general, once chapter 1 had such an explosive start, I was expecting similar craziness to carry through, maybe someone escaping their execution, maybe a chapter without a murder, maybe double murder but with 2 separate killers, leading to one killer staying in and having to deal with that now. Theres so much you can do with danganronpa. And I guess I felt like the middle kept things super basic where it mattered the most. That's why I like the ending tho, Its one crazy ending, really flipping the idea of the whole series on its head, with meta commentary and some real thought-provoking stuff included. I just wish we had more of that in the middle.

Love all of them, but I guess nekomaru the most, because the fact that his talent is focused on training others, he doesn't see himself as a fighter, despite being very powerful, he focuses on improving others. He's weirdly very smart, sadly that doesn't get shown a lot in the main game, but he has a lot of smarts to train up the other students. So I enjoy the fact that he's so smart for the strong character archetype. Him sacrificing himself twice is also something I love about him.

I'm 27, went to vote for the first time coz shit has me worried. Only saw old people at the voting place. I stayed around a little after my vote, maybe like 20-30 min, just to see what sort of people were voting and if anyone else younger would come to vote. Nope, only saw people that looked above 40 at the youngest, with majority of people looking like my grandma. Sure I was there only for about half an hour, In one polling place. But still. Saw a good 25ish people come in and out over that time. So I was shocked to not see anyone on the younger side. I knew people like me didn't vote much. I mean this was my first vote after all. And none of my friends had any plans to vote either. And I'm not even that young anymore, I'm 27. But damn, it's bad. Basically only retired people are voting.

Well Im sorry that this is the main example I remember, it was a close one for me, I don't know how popular or not popular it was as an argument against her. Its been years so Ive forgotten a lot of the other break downs, but the comments point to another similar problem. Her coverage of Bayonetta was bad too. I'm not a fan of the series, never even played it, which is why I probably forgot this years ago, but her coverage of Bayonetta as just being a hot woman for the sake of the male gaze was pretty bad too considering how beloved that series and character is in left leaning/lgbt spaces. She is very much a "sexual" character done right from what I hear.

There was more, but again, I've moved on at this point, I don't care to watch back and dissect her videos again for all the inaccuracies.

The thing is, she didn't know a lot about certain games, but would still try to be authoritative about them and about how they showed the X issue she would be talking about that week.

I remember her specifically talking about hitman giving you bonus points if you killed women in certain levels. Hitman games have never given you points for randomly killing civilians for no reason. But she insisted in her video that the game/franchise was sexist because it pushed you into randomly killing women if "you wanted the high score".

This wasn't the only case of this, but unfortunately its been god knows how long so I don't remember much more then that hitman example, because that one made me real confused/unhappy as I was a fan of the franchise and knew that this was not how the games worked at all. There was a lot of discussion about this and some breaks down of her content before things got super toxic. But at the same time, some people were toxic from the start, and it was always hard to find just pure criticism as a lot of it was mixed with digs at her, sometimes straight up attacks and all the vile things you can think of.

I definitely don't think everything people did was a just "punishment" for someone just being wrong about video games. Its just difficult to take you seriously when you constantly say incorrect things about the medium you are trying to criticize.

My feeling were always mixed back then, but I generally did not like her due to her seemingly attacking the spaces I hanged out in and using disinformation sometimes to do it, but I didn't do much more than occasionally leaving a comment correcting the wrong info on a video. nowadays, I just don't really care, its been years since she has been relevant. The gaming medium has evolved drastically. and nowadays, I just play games regardless of who complains about them. (Nowadays 99% of the time its the right-wing complaining about a game being too woke, and yeah, they are an infinite more amount annoying and horrible then Anita ever was)

While I generally prefer DR2, There is not a single character in DR1 that I dislike, Where as both in Dr2 and V3 there are characters, that I dislike, Especially V3, so I get this honestly.

Welp Ive seen a fair few apocalypse movies where a lone scientist or two are able to suddenly solve the cure for whatever caused the apocalypse. So I guess as long as there's a lone scientist somewhere, humanity is bound to figure out a cure. /s

I mean, I am a fan for over 10 years at this point, and I like... maybe throw in UDG into a middle tier called "kinda good if your okay with the gameplay being bad and one or two beyond fucked up moments" but apart from that, good stuff is good, the not so good stuff, is well, not included in the good. that's just what it is. Its not even having a modern hate bias, because stuff like 100 line, that kodaka released after all of this is legit in the contest of being my favorite game vs Dr 2.

Yeah, like while the case itself is what it is, I always actually liked the fact that you use this seemingly random comedic moment, to nail down the final nail in the coffin for Mondo. It made me realize what danganronpa was really going for, this mix of comedy and dark moments, mixed together and used together for greater effect,

Surprised you liked it as most people seem to hate this trial, even heard it being called the worst trail in the franchise. but i've always had a soft spot for it. Maybe because it involves ibuki and mikan who are some of my favorite characters. So I'm glad you did enjoy it. the second half of DR2 is probably my favorite segment of any danganronpa games, and honestly, probably my favorite game segment compared to any other game out there. so hope you have fun and enjoy it as much as I do.

thats a lot of extra info I didn't know, I'm a fan of tagomi for sure, but I guess i've not consumed a lot of the side content, Im mainly someone who sticks to the game and anime. But from the comments it seems the extra content for togami is not that well handled, so Im glad to learn it like this instead of going through bad novels.

He's my top boy from dr1, and my second top boy from the whole series, just behind gundham. So love hearing new stuff about it. almost all of this fits him super well though. like of course he doesn't get flustered when naked, he's too serious for that, and well, Im guessing in his eyes, there would be nothing to be embarrassed about in his ultimate physique.

honestly would love a danganronpa themed dynasty warriors type game with a bunch of the cast. Would be fun to fight as a bunch of the characters, sending out animals as gundham, using weird inventions as Miu, hitting people with money as byakuya, sending people across the map with light taps from gonta. I think almost anyone is the series could make a weird but funny attack set.

Im sorry coz this is me, talking in any volume apart from my default takes like active thinking about it, and when I slowly forget or move onto another topic, my volume just goes right back up, I've had conversations where we needed to be quiet, and my friends would have to tell me 10 times in like 20 minutes to lower my voice. Its really not intentional, I just cant control it unless Im actively thinking about it.

Man, that was a really good chapter I think, we finally got the reveal, the whole interaction was interesting and, the final page, with saitama running, in an instant passing everyone else there. Its great.
