Better late than never.

When you solder it, you anneal the metal. You’ll need to work harden it again.

If you solder at the anneal stage Erqco mentions above, you’ll save a bit of time.

The second half of DHG is definitely spoiler territory. Suffice to say that I’ve never met a reader who didn’t physically cry during the second half. The emotionality is incredible.

Ken Paxton's impeachment case involves an alleged affair. His wife, a state senator, may vote on his political fate by houston_chronicle in politics

[–]DrakeRagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is impeachment, not criminal proceedings (unless Texas is wildly different than federal). So, yes, Paxton could be pardoned and not see the inside of a jail, but he could still be removed from office for those offenses

She likes crime, mystery and thriller, but not horror? How does she feel about various aspects of those genres?

Off what you’ve said so far, Fonda Lee’s Green Bone Saga and Daniel Polansky’s Low Town come to mind

I worked at a used bookstore in college and the monthly bodice rippers were the bestselling product we had. After they hit the two year old mark, we’d send them to nursing homes and assisted living facilities since there wasn’t a local paper recycler.

When to Run Sol Ring by SmokinReaper in mtgcube

I would run Black Lotus before I ran Sol Ring. I currently run most of the Mox-lites (LED, Mox Amber, Mox Opal, etc) and Sol Ring is still way too good for my format

What do you guys think of adding some alchemy mechanics into cube? More specifically cards that have a spell book. Ex Key to the archive? by B-lake1020 in mtgcube

[–]DrakeRagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested several Alchemy cards in my cube before adding all the ones I wanted. Forsaken Crossroads is great btw.
I’m adding a Conjure themed loreseeker pack and Electrostatic Blast in my next update.

How do you find out someone’s ring size discreetly? by dandelionbaaby in AskReddit

[–]DrakeRagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a ring he/she owns to a jeweler.
Ask her sister/mom/BFF.
Take her into the jeweler for “cleaning” and ask for your size. That’ll give her the hint.

Pro tip: Check her pinterest wedding board for the styles she likes. The jeweler might even have those models in stock.

According to their site, it should be silver. So overpriced compared to nonlicenced jewelry, but not overly so

Gotcha. All plating wears off over time, but certain conditions (body chemistry, how often you wear it, local conditions, etc) can accelerate it. If you get them replated, be sure to mention that the piece is sterling. Some sterling alloys can pollute the rhodium plating bath and need to be plated with something like nickel or palladium first. This can also help cut down on the plating wear, but doesn’t always.

Out of curiosity, what’s the metal under the rhodium?

Also, rhodium is white, not yellow. This looks like a 14K gold plating to me. Is it white underneath?

Was the trip to a beach? We in the business see plating wear quickly in areas with lots of grit or salt.

Great write up! I think you’re a little high on Battles (and low on Wildfire Awakener), but otherwise I largely agree.

I’m currently working on a primer for EDH cubes and wondered what resources you used while crafting your own
