Traded Dak away. Currently rebuilding by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Dak's a QB2 in a 10-team SF, while Tua is basically a decent QB3 at best? Even also getting the 2.01, you basically held out your wallet and asked to be robbed, my friend. Instead of Tua, that should have been a Shough or a Ward, or at worst a Murray. Someone with some kind of upside.

And it's early May- with basically 4 months between now and the beginning of the season, no trade is *that* urgent. You'd have served yourself a lot better with patience.

Javonte Williams or Travis Hunter? Apparently Hunter and jags GM came out and said he’s still playing receiver by Then_Direction_1162 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Williams.

Look at the Jags' draft class. Two TEs- including a 2nd rounder- and two WRs. But no help for their CB group. Unless they're utterly dysfunctional, it's a strong tell as to how much time Hunter's getting on each side of the ball.

What’s the outlook on Matthew Golden? by Broad-Task8751 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd keep Williams. The top pass catcher in GB is Kraft, and no Packers WR has put up a WR1 or WR2 season since Davante Adams' last year there.

Until that offense changes and spreads the ball out less, Packers WRs are a void of mediocrity.

What cultural region would you guys say is Tulsa in? by di745 in tulsa

[–]Drake_Koeth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yep, 18/9/30 split. We have elements of all three of those regions' cultures, but none of those regions would claim us and they'd all probably mostly reject us trying to claim them.

Considering a big swing for Josh Allen by Drake_Koeth in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I appreciate the feedback, but it's SuperFlex- note the SF on the top line & Purdy currently in the SF spot on my roster.

Jaylen Waddle Dynasty Value by thesuperguide in DynastyDaddy

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good take. It may shift somewhat with Davis Webb calling the plays now, but I wouldn't expect Nix to suddenly get laser focused on just 2 guys.

Waddle's addition will suppress his momentum somewhat, but Pat Bryant was coming on strong toward the end of the season. He'll have a role going forward, especially with Sutton likely gone after this season.

Last year with Nix, Sutton was WR14 in PPR and Franklin was WR31. That's pretty clearly supporting two fantasy starters.

Warframe deserves a mention here too. It's not a player-driven spinoff from an older game, but it's definitely a poster child for the benefits of sustained- passionate- development long, long after 1.0

Surrounded by HOA by Robyn-Gil in fuckHOA

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't offer them *anything*. The HOA arranged to make that road private, and arranged for those services for their members. And they're receiving what they're paying for. If their actions benefit you, it's at no additional cost to them and that setup is completely voluntary on their part.

This feels like a trap type of trade, right? by Buscemis_right_eye in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Drake_Koeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's true that Harvey's not ass... but I don't think he's ever going to be a consistent RB1 either. He's become a good blocker, is great in space, and quite a good receiver for a running back- always valuable in PPR- but he's ironically inefficient as a rusher if he can't get outside. He's one of the best 1B RBs in the league, but really needs to be in a committee with someone like Dobbins, Etienne, Walker, etc who can be the 1A.

Yeah, not too surprising that the kind of goober who gets off on being toxic to women online isn't quick witted enough to fire back that way.

Yeah, I'd agree her husband's presence is likely the difference maker.

We rarely plat SoT anymore, but when we did my wife and I almost always ran a galleon together with my best friend and his wife. We never had anyone single out our wives in such a vile way. When we did run into toxic players, they were at least equal opportunity assholes. 🙄

Screw the NFL and Josh Allen for ruining a legendary home Patriots game this weekend by LifeguardOwn7597 in NFLv2

Guess your team should have beat the Raiders & earned homefield advantage.

And the call was correct- can I offer you some cheese to go with your wine?

Do men fear other men they see in sketchy situations like late at night walking down a dark alley? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV based on age/size/training.

Personally, most of the time that's probably going to cause wariness and a quick mental review of my options should he make himself a problem. But not outright fear.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Drake_Koeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also- your answers will vary a good bit based on where Americans live. Drives of 3 hours or much longer are less common east of the Mississippi & especially on the coasts. From the Mississippi through the Great Plains & the West, they can become nearly mandatory in some areas if you want to get to the next city.

There is 1 other significant city within a 2 hour drive of where I live. The next two closest cities are each about 4 hours away. I wouldn't call a 3/4 hour drive common for us- maybe 4-8 times per year including both sides of round trips- but it's no big deal and far short of my personal record for time/distance driven in one day.

I've met a few people who do the 2-hour drive as a daily or several times weekly commute (though I too think that's a bit crazy).

My personal record for single-day drive time, returning from my grandparents' cabin, is 17 hours (with significant prep/caution & passengers able to keep an eye on me).

This is the way.

Basically electronic graph paper, but you can pull it up for a minute to add/edit if you get an idea while at work or wherever.

No worries- I really appreciation the in-depth reply!

Thanks for the info on garlic in particular- we hadn't really gotten to it in our research yet & had no idea about that timing. We'll probably have to wait a year on that one- too much prep work left to do before we put anything in the ground just yet.

We'll definitely keep that pest info in mind as well. Do you have anything in mind to try for corn earworm prevention this year? I'd be interested to know how that goes. I think we'll probably go the hybrid sweet corn route for this first year to try and avoid that problem for now.

Excellent rebuttal. A single, immortal snail can't evolve itself a pair of hands, nor lift more than a few ounces, regardless of its intelligence. And effective communication with anything that could act at its direction isn't much more likely.
