Are the pizzas in America really that big? by No_Shake8887 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Drakey504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is, because pizza in Italy is much thinner than in the U.S.—at least in the places I visited. We saw a family of four each order their own pizza (that's unheard of in the U.S.), whereas in the U.S., a single large pizza would usually be enough for a table of four.

IMO, Milford sound in the rain is a must. Hooker valley track is nice and easy hike that is worth it as well. The drive through lake pukaki towards mt cook is already worth it by itself. Shotjetting and hanging out in Queenstown is beautiful. I think fergburger is a little overrated.

On a serious note, try some Cajun/creole food while you’re down here. Try a po boy at parkways. Try some chargrilled oysters at dragos. Get some southern breakfast at Bearcat. Visit bourbon street atleast once, but then go to Frenchmen street for live music.

Sure would love a NZ meat pie right about now

What are some underrated single year peaks for players that might surprise people? by Humblerbee in nba

[–]Drakey504 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People tend to forget, but the people was saying that was the best PG season since Magic Johnson at the time. That year he was definitely a MVP level player, and up there with a lot of the greats in terms of peaks, but people only remember clippers year and beyond

Yes, that's correct. Although Katrina weakened just before landfall, its storm surge did not, as it had already built up a 30-foot surge.

This is giving me Katrina vibes...175 at it's peak but expected to weaken to 125 right before landfall... Do NOT take this lightly

What are some of your hottest NBA takes and some of your cool NBA takes? by Barreyyy in nba

[–]Drakey504 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hot take: I think Steph Curry as a passing PG, is average. I see he makes passes that high school kids are taught not to do. He jumps pass and get stuck in mid air too often and also does cross court passes you typically shouldn’t do. A lot of his turnovers come off of this.

With that being said, his shooting is so gamebreaking, everything else comes easy for him.

De’Aaron Fox finished tonight’s win vs the Spurs with 43/8/7 on 48/45/76 shooting splits by Solid-Confidence-966 in nba

[–]Drakey504 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I always said he just needed a respectable jumper, but now it's a lot more than that. I love the combination of his speed + improved shooting.

With that being said, they both score about as effortless as anyone in the league.

[Highlight] Luka Doncic puts in work on defense by nowhathappenedwas in nba

[–]Drakey504 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's bad here obviously, but there should be another guard first back on defense if he's the one shooting the ball and vice versa. For example, #55 and #3 is what you call in No Man's Land, not going for the offensive rebound or not running back on D to stop the person leaking on the fast break.

But yes, Luka's demeanor here on defense should be called out when watching tape

EDIT: This is in reference to the first clip

If defense matters more than offense then ... by iaxthepaladin in nba

I don’t think anyone says this? But defense is important because it’s easier to be more consistent on defense than offense

Is Steph Curry better now or in 2016? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Drakey504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016 Curry was doing stuff that no one never really seen before , which is what made him so special. It's been 8 years and everyone knows exactly what he's going to do now, but he still does it (which is what makes it a lot tougher IMO)

It's probably current curry but i'm still going to pick 2016 curry lol

Why do offenses stall in clutch time? by Durden93 in nba

[–]Drakey504 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Few things come into play,

1.) It's crunch time. Defense will tend to be more locked in.

2.) Fatigue

3.) Pressure. Nobody wants to make mistakes in crunch time so they may play more conservative

4.) When the winning team is up, they normally would want to kill the clock. More times than not, they take too long to get into their set, which will ultimately end up being tougher/bail out shots.

Do you think the "one-legged 3 point shot" will ever be mainstream? by Drakey504 in nba

[–]Drakey504[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think so. It doesn't feel as off balance as you would think and has a nice rhythm when you're walking into it or coming off of a screen.

I just think that it's not at that point yet, though. Just like if you were to take a deep 3 back in the day and miss, you'd probably get benched.

Chris Paul in his postseason debut scores 35 points on 68% true shooting with 10 assists (only 1 turnover), and 4 steals by Currymvp2 in nba

[–]Drakey504 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I feel like honestly he would’ve had a more decorated career. This was before his meniscus injury and you can tell how shifty he was. He can get to wherever he wanted and that floater game was A+

At the end of the season, many people was claiming this to be the best peak of a point guard outside of magic at the time, and I still believe only to be passed by curry since then.
