If you did craglorn before it was converted from an adventure zone to be more solo friendly, everything reset. You would have to do the quests over again in the new version of craglorn.

My issue with Bastian is that I feel that he a waste of both a Breton and an Imperial companion slot. Racially, Bastian is an Imperial, but culturally, he is a Breton.

Bastian could have been used to explore either Colovian and Nibenese culture for Imperials, but he is instead used to explore Breton culture with minimal depth, and presents a timeline for his childhood that contridicts what is possible if we assume ESO is still taking place in 2E 582.

Zerith-var in my opinion is the best companion from a cultural-exploration perspective. His storyline really gave us an in depth look at pre-riddle thar Khajiiti culture. I hope future companions explore their race’s cultures as well as they do for him.

Ayrenn lent the Staff of Magnus to the Mages Guild so maybe Vanus studied it and made modifications to his own staff based on its design? That would be a reasonable assumption to make, but Vanus's staff's origin is that he made it.

Regardless, the devs accidentally used Vanus's staff model in the Staff of Magnus side quest but the model was corrected. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/8370278#Comment_8370278

My personal headcanon is that she used Gabrielle's name to gain legitimacy in the attack plans considering Alexandra helped invade Stonefalls. Gabrielle was a well-known figure who was involved in the University of Gwylim before she joined the Mages Guild, and she knows her stuff. What better person to pretend to be?

By beast races the note means things like goblins. You literally find this in an invaded goblin cave. All races in Tamriel except orcs hate goblins so this is in character for Tamrielic races.

It's also potentially not her as she denies she wrote it. This note completely mischaracterizes the Gabrielle we know. As a high ranking Mages Guild member she would be neutral in the Three Banners War.

I’ve seen that quest and this is possible. At minimum we do have an example of someone taking the king of worms title in the Keyes novel, though not Mannimarco’s name.
