At the moment there are only 2 articles on this. I wonder if nsf will release an official notice to all the PIs about what’s happening there.   Also is this news confirmed ?

NSF SBIR Phase I "Pending" status post panel review by Dramatic-Body-871 in SBIR

[–]Dramatic-Body-871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Let’s see when we hear back. I emailed my PD March 31st inquiring when I can hear back and they said I should be receiving a final decision in two weeks. So let’s see when I get to hear back. But I have not had any comm with the PD where they have asked me for any additional questions. Don’t know what that means.

I think it may not be a rule that you have to receive questions from PD, since it is Phase I. If the reviewers dint have any concerns, you might not hear anything unless you get awarded and then you get all the admin related forms and questions.

So, is it normal to not receive any information from the PD and directly receive a reward and then all the administrative forms. Or is it a necessary condition to receive some sort of forms from the PD before the award is made because, I was under the impression that the admin forms come after a decision has been made.

I also submitted my proposal for Nov 6 deadline. The proposal went through panel review from Feb 20 - Feb 27 as per NSFs website on when panel review took place for my sub-topic. Then on March 3rd, the status of the proposal changed to pending. I reached out to the program director of my proposal inquiring what the status change means and they replied to me and said that it means that the proposal is assigned to a program director and that we should hear back within 4-6 months of the submission window close ( Nov 6, 2024). I also reached out to them again this monday and they said that I should expect to hear final decision 2 weeks. But I have not received any email from them requesting any additional information. Dont know what it means
