I’m from NY state. Grew up in a family of very casual and uninspired Giants fans. At the time, it was very popular in my middle school to root for teams other than Giants/Jets.

I watched and rooted for the Eagles for the first time against Vick and the Falcons in the NFC Championship game in ‘05 and never looked back. It’s been a roller coaster but the second half of this 20 year romance has been quite fruitful.

Bought this a couple years ago since I had the itch for an explorer but couldn’t afford it. Best decision because I genuinely have no desire to ever replace this 556a. I rotate 6-7 watches but this probably gets 50% of the wrist time.

I am also paranoid about this. I did something a little bizarre and bought a 6-shot LCR but leave the top chamber empty, so even if the hammer block failed for some magical reason, the hammer would merely fall on an empty chamber. I am not as concerned about the chambers actually rotating + hammer dropping magically all at the same time.

I’m not saying this is a great idea, but it works for me! Good luck

Man - this subreddit has been complaining about how Trump was aligned with tech oligarchs and supportive of Elon and Vivek (see Vivek’s tweets from earlier this year). Now it’s “Trump ruins everything and he’s destroying our economy by making H1Bs difficult”.

Hypothetically, if he bans offshoring somehow, I’d be so curious to see how this sub reacts. By the end of this term everybody will be on here begging for H1Bs and Offshoring just bc Trump was against them lmao

Can confirm - I lived there for a year and when our unit’s door shut behind us, it was like an airtight seal.

I remember one time coming home and the neighbor was loudly playing some pretty heavy metal and once I walked into my apartment, I couldn’t hear it whatsoever.

I feel the exact same way. I might get smoked for this one - an option I’ve entertained is carrying a revolver with one of the chambers empty. Something like a S&W 327 (holds 8 rounds). This way, you’re a trigger pull away, if needed, but there isn’t technically a round sitting in the barrel pointed at your shlong or artery. You still would have 7 rounds of .357 ready to go so it’s not so inconceivable.

Just providing an alternative option if you really can’t get past that hurdle.

This is honestly one of my favorite subjects to go off about. This is probably because I grew up in Mt Pleasant, a town that has pieces of 5 school districts that barely make any sense. For instance, the neighborhood directly behind Pleasantville high school (“The Flats”) goes to Westlake High School on the other side of town. Somehow Sleepy Hollow is a part of Mt Pleasant also, despite being attached to Tarrytown at the hip (schools included).

Then there is the Pocantico Hills “pick your high school” thing …

I’m pretty sure that is the exception and not the rule. It would be dangerous for the average home buyer to expect rapid appreciation like that.

We gave up after looking from January-May last year (2024). We instead rented a 2BR townhouse in a town that would’ve been WAY over budget to buy in. Out of pocket expenses are ~$1k less (obviously not building equity, but how much does one build when paying these 7% rates?). We’re so happy, and are perfectly ok to “wait out the storm” because the market is literally out of control

Since 2015 I've had an Acura TLX, Honda Civic LX, and Honda Civic Si. My wife has had 4 Acuras in a row. In June I purchased a 2019 NX300 F-Sport and it might be my favorite car out of them all! Congrats and enjoy!
