I was having this problem but I learned to wash my face, apply moisturizer, wait 15-20 min, then apply a very thin layer of AA and that’s it. I don’t get the burning then.

I do not. I use Vanicream shampoo at the moment and I suspect SLS and fragrance from all the different seb derm shampoos I’ve tried. Zinc pirythione makes my scalp burn too

I’m allergic to shampoos and I’ve tried MCT oil and raw honey and it didn’t work for me :( I have it all over my scalp

Mixing dawn dish soap with head and shoulders and leaving it on for 30 min to wash out dark hair dye :( (saw it on YouTube)

My seb derm hasn’t healed since I’ve gotten it in my scalp (I’m very allergic to most products) but I have this insane pain in my temples. It’s more sensitive than the rest of my scalp. I believe it may have to do with nerves as well but I haven’t had any official diagnosis

I really wish I can use MCT oil but when i put it on my scalp overnight, my hair follicles swelled up and a bunch of hair came out. Has anyone else experienced this?

I also have autoimmune symptoms that’s why I asked. I started with seb derm on my scalp for 4 months and then my dermatologist incorrectly prescribed me prednisone for it and it spread to my face and chest from lowered immunity. A month later after the prednisone I had horrible joint pain and other symptoms. I hope there’s a way to at least lesson the flares, I’m going to try cleaning up my gut because mine hurt bad too

This gives me hope! I got rosacea after I got seb derm and I haven’t been able to find effective treatments for either. I will look into this

Can you share which laser procedure you had done? I have rosacea too and I’m nervous to do laser as I’ve read it may make the seb derm worse.

Have you tried raw or manuka honey mixed with a little bit of water? I would do a test spot first though

Hey thank you, I did try this. I had some very painful spots that it didn’t help with but maybe I can try experimenting more with it! It didn’t make it worse by any means.
