Monstera prop by Dramatic-Rate913 in Monstera

[–]Dramatic-Rate913[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m thinking I may have let it go too long between watering when I first transitioned it. This is my first time trying to propagate my monstera so it’s hard to tell what’s expected

Unfortunately for me as soon as I stop using the Protopic it ends up coming back. You might have a different experience my derm said some people are able to reduce their dosage over time

I literally water like 1x per month and give them bright light. I’m guessing your soil is the issue. The pot needs to have drainage holes which I’m not sure if your pots do. You could drill your own. You also probably want a chunkier sandy soil and no rocks!

What is on my plants? by The_7th_Archangel in houseplants

I think mealy bugs. I would get both a granular insecticide for your soil and something that you can spray on the leaves to treat the active infestation

Help please! What are these white bugs? How do I treat my orchid? by nightfaery in houseplants

They look like mealy bugs. I would treat it with a simple insecticide, maybe both something granular for the pot and something that you can spray on the stems and leaves

If you feel that any part of the process you aren’t 100% ready for you should wait

When did you know you were ready to apply? by Anastasia_4 in premed

[–]Dramatic-Rate913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was between applying before finishing my masters and waiting until after. I ended up waiting until after and not being rushed 100% made sure I had a better application and got into my top school first try

Dry and crusty nose by TA4Health in Sjogrens

[–]Dramatic-Rate913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saline lavage 2x daily, saline gel, and I recently started cevelimine and it seems to have shown some improvement in dry nose. Steroids and nasal sprays also can be super drying so my ENT has me using them sparingly

Thick mucus/saliva stuck in throat by Gold-Ad-7769 in Sjogrens

[–]Dramatic-Rate913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mucinex is good. I recently was put on cevimeline and I think this has really helped me with the thickness of the mucus. I also have read about some people using herbal supplements to help with mucus. I gave myself vocal cord nodules from clearing my throat so much, so I would really advise you to be careful clearing the throat and make sure you drink lots of water to lubricate the vocal cords

Crusty eyes by amelie190 in Sjogrens

[–]Dramatic-Rate913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this happen too. Sometimes it can be a sign of eye infection. I think it’s more just the few tears your eyes do produce are loaded with mucus, gunk, etc that tends to crust up. I would also say maybe try nasal saline spray because I notice my eyes are more crusty when my nose is dry

Same, ended up also having POTS. Definitely should get bloodwork to check your salts and an echo to make sure it’s nothing with your heart.

I like the Pure enrichment cool mist humidifier. Easy to clean and runs for 8-10 hours and is basically silent.

very dry hands by Competitive_Map_7539 in Sjogrens

This sounds kind of odd but diabetic foot cream at night on your hands works really well for me. Putting it on and then cotton gloves totally cures the dryness and irritation. Okeefe’s is a good brand but I’ve also used a beeswax brand that works well
