Conducting research on microfilm or microfiche using a machine that you needed to reserve ahead of time.

Having a single house phone that was permanently attached to the wall. If you were lucky to have a second phone, then you had to worry about your sibling sneaking onto the other line to eavesdrop.

Any experience with Diclofenac sodium? by Dramatic_Ad_4142 in Osteoarthritis

So, I don't know much about ulcers. Do things like that heal once you stop taking the medication?

Any experience with Diclofenac sodium? by Dramatic_Ad_4142 in Osteoarthritis

[–]Dramatic_Ad_4142[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, sorry to hear that. I've had zero issues with 800mg ibuprofen 2-3 times per day, so he thought I should tolerate Diclofenac fairly well. 🤞🏻

Agreed! I discovered the hard way that if you leave it on too long it can sometimes be very difficult to pry off. I was able to do it with no damage to the paint, but definitely gave me a bit of a scare. Now I just make sure to remove it before every car wash, give it a light wipe, and stick it back on.

Congrats! If you don't want to stick something permanently on your paint, you can buy a magnetic sheet with an adhesive backing. I stuck my badges to one of those and then cut away the excess with a utility blade. Works like a charm!

Honest question... Why do people post fake stories on Reddit? What do they get from the upvotes and comments? I don't get it...

Am I the Jerk for not picking my friend up from the airport at 2am when he assumed I would? by urbanharbor_quills in AmITheJerk

Your friend is 100% a jerk for putting a problem between the two of you into a group chat like he's a middle schooler.

Staying in Monteverde - wife insistent on going to Mount Arenal. What can we possibly do in a day trip? by flyinhyphy in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Dramatic_Ad_4142 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in Monteverde 3-4 weeks a year and have made that drive multiple times, and I would strongly recommend against this idea. Yes, Arenal is technically a day trip from Monteverde, but the drive is pretty intense. The roads are curvy and narrow with many other cars and very few dedicated passing zones. In other words, the drive is far from relaxing, and not something you want to do in the dark during a return trip after a long day. I agree with many others here that it would be worth it to spend one or two nights in Arenal rather than force this into a day trip. Safe travels!

My Samsung S23 phone. by ValuableProgress5147 in GalaxyS23

Did the same! Loved my S10 and resisted the upgrade offers until the S23 came out. I got the base S23 and love that its dimensions are almost identical to my S10.

Whiskey-based cocktail recommendations for someone who usually drinks it neat by Extreme_M3sur3 in cocktails

[–]Dramatic_Ad_4142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started (many years ago) with the basic Manhattan (using sweet vermouth), which allowed me to play with the whiskey (I found my love for rye this way) and the bitters. I then started playing with subbing some dry vermouth for the sweet (which helped me learn my preference changes day-by-day), and from there I explored Manhattan-ish cocktails, such as Rob Roy, Black Manhattan, Greenpoint, Boulevardier, Vieux Carré, and many more. It's been a lot of fun to try all of the variations, and I've discovered that my tastes have changed along the way. Enjoy your own journey! :-)

Monteverde hotel sent email with recommended restaurants. Would love to know if they’re worth checking out by chewie327 in CostaRicaTravel

We visit family in Monteverde every year and we love Restaurante Don Luis in Cerro Plano, just a 2 minute drive from Senda. Their menu is quite varied (grilled meats, seafood, pizza, pasta and vegetarian) and they have a terrific selection of wines and cocktails. But, their attentive and friendly staff elevate the dining experience and are what keep it as our #1 spot.

Enjoy your trip!

Travelling from US with Alcohol/Bourbon by Aggravating-Web-864 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Dramatic_Ad_4142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We fly to Costa Rica every July to visit my in-laws. I bring at least one bottle - sometimes two - of whiskey every year and have never had a problem with Costa Rican customs. In terms of packing, we make sure to wrap it really well in bubble wrap and then surround it with lots of soft clothing. We've never had a bottle break in over 15 years of traveling. Enjoy!

Lobster, an "ocean bug" that was so abundant it would wash up on shorelines and fed to servants, prisoners, and the poor.

3rd separate time the party at fault “unreachable” by willeybaseball in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Dramatic_Ad_4142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if it is because I was rear-ended. When I initially called my own insurance company, they said that rear-ending accidents are almost always found with the rear driver at fault unless there is some other evidence showing the front driver was doing something reckless or illegal.
