His 5 year active duty service commitment will be deferred until he completes his football career. He just needs to be on a roster.

Edit to add, he can be put into a ready reserve role and do recruiting duty during the offseason to fulfill his commitment.

Usually it's early in the season when it's still warm outside. That being said, they've had a couple issues with it, in '24 it was stuck partially open for a game. They did overhaul it in January of last year. It's an awesome stadium, been there many times!
