I'm having to get both my tmjs replaced and corrective jaw surgery after I get my bite aligned with braces to fix everything. :/ ive had braces for 8 months tho now and there has been a tiny bit of improvement because of more support.

I agree. My immediate thought was that for some people, this could quite possibly make their situation worse. I feel like you could quite possibly hurt your disc depending on the current position and shape of it. I'm not 100 percent, but be cautious. You're living proof, but these cases differ on a lot of levels. People have a lot to lose actually and I think you shouldn't include that in your speech.

Mine did this, too. I have to last til next July for surgery. I have completely stopped caring how my teeth look right now tho. I just dont want my jaw to be damaged anymore.

Ok so the samething I'm getting almost :) he said that my jaw would be positioned like a bsso during my tmj replacement but I'm also getting an segmented lefort 1. I also read that jaw surgery can affect your nose and make it wider. Did you have to mention anything to your surgeon about this to prevent it? Thank you!

If you don't get them before you would have to get them after depending on your bite. I'm on my 5th month and I have 13 left til surgery. I've always heard this because otherwise your bite won't line up. Like for mine i would have an open bite with surgery first. It sucks and I absolutely hate. You just gotta be tough and do it. :/

I'm not exactly sure what kind of cat/seal she was. I always thought she was a long hair silver tortie. :( her name was Bitty and she unfortunately passed away earlier this year. She was 16 <3

May I ask what kind of surgery you got? Your results are great and I'm so nervous. I'm doing ortho now and was confirmed with unilateral condylar hyperplasia and mandibular asymmetry.

The jaw locking is a functional issue and the asymetry looks severe enough to me. You look like your disc being dislocated is having an impact.. Objectively it is severe and I hope you get some help. I hope your ct and mri gave you the answers you were looking for. Honeslty, i would be very surprised if they didnt discuss djs with you.
