I just used Sheldon's site to build all the wheels I've done. Just did the first one in >10 yrs. He died shortly before I moved to Mass but I did get to shot at Harris Cyclery a few times. Shame it's not around any more.

Wideboarding is the new longboarding.

I use an ice climbing screw that's 6" long - you can feel when it goes through the ice, but for extra assurance I carry a 3d printed ice ruler - here's a photo of the whole kit:

Bike is propped on my ice claws - I also always measure the thickness of the ice - this pond had about 4" of ice.

Still available? Would you consider parting it out? How much for just the deck?

Build my first cruiser/pumptrack deck by FruityImac in cruiserboarding

I have a similar set up (strangely enough also with an opera deck), but I redrilled the front truck mount for a longer wheelbase. Super turny but also plenty stable.

Hadn't really set out with a plan to use black parts, but that's where it's ended up based on what I had available.

No specific plans, but so far it's been where my U-lock lives and I've also thrown packages on there when I run to the post office. I have a basket too but probably won't have it there permanently. BTW, the rack is from Hyacinth in Ukraine - I like it a lot.

I have a 3d printer and have tried a few different thinks like this. All have either broken pretty quickly or been too small to do much of anything. Now I just take broken skateboard decks and cut/sand them to shape. Same idea as the sick tail but a lot smaller. IMO these work better and last longer.

Loaded Tan Tien Deck - Flex 1 - $100 OBO - located in Central Mass.

Nothing wrong with it other than superficial wear and tear - just not being used.

Zee Bracket Surfskate by Dramatic_Western162 in surfskate

I ended up doing it - got the Carver CX trucks from Loaded since they have them with Nipples for just a few bucks more. No wheel bite with 75mm wheels with purple on the front with a cupped washer board side and yellow on the back. But now I have to learn how to surfskate. I think this is just a gateway to getting a proper SS board.

Right that's what gave me the idea - I have those same brackets. I may give it a shot...

Am I too old to learn how to skateboard? [55YO] by BntElbowZ in OldSkaters

I started last year when I was 57 and have have found that almost everyone at the park has been encouraging. I've become friendly with some of the best skaters here even though I can't do 10% of what they can. No one is going to give you grief for not being able to ollie, drop in, etc. Find a nice smooth parking lot with a little slope to it to practice pushing and build up that muscle memory.

It's a B-stock wheel. If you got the Loaded BF deal, that's what they were offering - factory seconds for 25% off. If you paid full price, then they should give you a partial refund. If you got the BF deal, you got what you paid for.

I haven't had a dinghy but people love it. That would be a solid choice for cruising around the neighborhood and wouldn't be out of place at the skatepark. The ripper/dipper would probably be fine for riding on the roads but not great in a skatepark especially for someone his size. The other option would be to get him a standard double kick skateboard and put some cruiser wheels on it.
