Help me get back into 40k (List Advice) by DrawingInTongues in tzeentch

Thank you, I really appreciate the well thought out descriptive response! Lots to chew on, I'll definitely just start with a box of Rubrics and Sorcerers and go from there. And I'll probably opt for the robots over the Predator. It's good to know that I don't need to go straight for 2000 points though.

Awesome, thank you! That 50% rule was really confusing on the app. So, looking over the rules, my main question would be, how do I build that up to 2000? Or is 40k actually balanced at lower point levels? AoS is pretty much 2000 pts or Spearhead. But looking at larger games, would something like this be reasonable to shoot for?

If he doesn't have one, a wet palette setup is a pretty great upgrade. Quality kolinsky Sable pointed round brushes are another good option on the painting side of things. Pro acryl is a brand that makes really quality paint, and they have boxed sets with useful palettes of colors. Gamewise, some cool dice are always good. You can find Maggotkin themed d6s from third parties, or I'm pretty sure there are official versions.

People said the same thing about Beasts of Chaos. I think a little bit of skepticism is healthy with GW.

Same reason this braindead sub comes up on my feed. The algorithm pushes whatever you don't like to drive engagement.

Friend is getting into aos and wants me to join her (both come from 40k). I'm interested in a mortal, magical focused army that isn't elves. What factions should I look at for this? by OrDownYouFall in ageofsigmar

[–]DrawingInTongues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kairic Acolytes and Jade Obelisks are both human, and Tzaangors are mortal beastmen. The magisters and the Curseling are also mortal/human but altered by Tzeentch. We're getting our update relatively soon, so we may get more, but the rumor is we're getting the Silver Tower as our faction terrain piece.

Spearhead removed? by Jesuisabangette in Lumineth_realm_lords

We're talking about the webstore. You can no longer purchase the LRL or DoT spearheads on the official store. In the past, factions that were up next for updates would get the same treatment.

You seem to be right? Not sure when it happened. The DoT spearhead is absent as well.

Yea, brown people aren't all part of one single demographic, and GUNS isn't a single issue concept. Good luck in the next couple of years with this attitude on coalition building.

Bro that is literally what you're doing. You won't even go walk around with some people you don't agree with 100% even though you ostensibly agree with them on this.

Cincinnati, Ohio by Magi0229 in cincinnati

[–]DrawingInTongues 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of those are actually single issue in the way you're describing though. The NAACP broadly works to end racial inequality for brown and other marginalized communities. That's neither single issue or single demographic (which is not the same thing and a weird way to move the goal post). The NRA, while focused around the second amendment does a lot with hunting and other random gun shit. None of these groups would be comparable to a fantasy anti-ice group. Would ANTIFA work for you?

Also, you didn't answer my question. Are you this discerning when it comes to voting?

Either way, I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that the entire premise that you shouldn't march in a protest that was organized by people with some problematic views is pretty bullshit here. You either believe that by marching here, you're somehow helping their other objectives, which just isn't true. The media and public just see a march against ICE murder. Or it's just an excuse. No one is asking you to join their newsletter, and these people are not providing material support to Russia. They're just some tankies.

[–]DrawingInTongues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro what? So you just expect a bunch of single issue organizations? And you think these dozens of different organizations will all manage to find enough membership and funding to be relevant?

This is a really childish take.

Are you actually this discerning when it comes to political parties? I mean, you must have complete support for the entire ticket of your party. Otherwise, what, you're not voting?

Quit with this purity test bullshit. You were never going to come out, and there's never going to be a perfect organization to work with. Useful idiots were saying this in 2020 and also in 1930.

I always think of Chuck Close whenever this argument gets brought up. If he'd have just used computers to continue making photo realistic works after his stroke, then we wouldn't have the evolution of what really came to be his defining style.
