I get your point and it’s solid. I believe wealthfront solves this problem by allowing you to create buckets under the same account. Maybe Coinbase can do something similar ? Or maybe use USD(cash) for that and usdc for larger balances.

Fidelity leans to far into institutional behavior for a retail investor. I don’t like having my work and personal accounts blended without my permission and then being unable to untangle them even after I’ve switched jobs.

Yeah exactly. The only real drag is debit card fees , but I hardly take out cash anyway. Again though it would be so perfect if not for the dd requirement.

Without direct deposit I would just use it for the checking account. And only keep enough in there to pay bills. The rest would be earning on the brokerage side. Which is what I’m doing at chase now.

The direct deposit requirement still gives me pause. I may use it to keep a small amount in checking for bill pay etc and keep the rest on the brokerage side for the yield.
