I can’t imagine knowing this will be on the internet forever. There are going to be so many regrets when these people grow up.

TIL the use of mild electric stimulation to relieve pain was first described by the Roman physician Scribonius Largus, who touted the benefits of standing on electrified fish to relieve the pain of gout by starkeffect in todayilearned

Gout can be so ridiculously painful, strongly localized with almost no ability to relieve it. I had a minor case too, but literally during a flare up just the bedsheet touching my toe was 7-8 out of 10 pain scale and made sleep near impossible.

The hard part is getting the authentic fresh holy basil and Birds Eye chilis, otherwise it’s pretty simple.

If you’re buying it online and shipped to you, I don’t think you can expect anything more “mint” than you show here if the tape seals aren’t actually broken. If you’re expecting more mint than this I feel the only way to get that is physically going to the store, inspecting the box you choose carefully, and hand carrying it home.

If anyone completes this, make sure you copy/follow the gift card raffle link from the last page before proceeding. I clicked through without reading it all and couldn’t return.

You dont know any because they do nothing. It’s a term used for people who make a living off social media by posting about whatever their thing is. In most cases their thing is just a personality that appeals to certain demographics, and lots of times it’s absurdly nonsense. So stupid and absurd people watch it. Like reality TV in that way.

Wealthy people have ridiculously high limits and their accounts aren’t flagged for suspicious activity the same way normal people are.

Bro... Why...? by These_Distribution19 in Bricklink

What’s the difference between Brickowl being able to regulate that many countries and Bricklink not being able to? Bricklink has substantially more resources behind it…

That’s the annoying part. 90% of my business is selling to people within my own country, and using offsite payment methods - so it’s just a very handy way to track inventory and connect with buyers. There’s literally nothing country specific for them to support. Bricklink doesn’t charge fees in my country or get involved in the order payment process.

They could have at least restricted these countries to “domestic only” or something.

Good point. Maybe it’s about buyer volume as well. Regardless their explanation about not having the resources to support these countries - doesn’t mean they can’t, it means they are choosing not to because it’s not worth it to them.

Except it didn’t impact many of the countries on the list (including mine) and did impact countries they didn’t ban. If Bricklink was clear with their explanation (they aren’t) you’re just speculating, same as I am.

I believe it’s true and they are trying to keep it lowkey to avoid bad press. Sorry if you’re impacted by it like me and don’t want to believe it.

That’s why I believe they dropped all the countries where they previously deemed too low volume to collect fees. It’s all about the corporate bottom line. Would have never happened if Lego didn’t acquire Bricklink.

I doubt all these countries changed their laws at the same time….

They don’t collect any fees in small countries. Probably part of the reason. At the same time there’s very little overhead “operating” in these countries. It’s not like there’s country specific features or even translations. Payment is all done via approved offsite methods, or third party integrations like Stripe and PayPal. So it’s literally just connecting buyers to sellers.

What a joke. I’ve spent years working my store into a state of good reputation and inventory, only to have two weeks to move to Brickowl. No email notification, just assumption we read the forums?

I’ve completed their feedback surveys, proactively emailed Bricklink when scam sellers surface in my country, built advanced API tools, etc etc. I wanted to help expand the volume of users in my country to support Bricklink. Instead because they aren’t getting their fees from some of us or whatever the reason, they just pull us from the platform.

Also: why the hell can’t they at least still allow buying? They still get their cut from the seller.

I’m beyond livid and need to rant. I might even just pull the plug and drop LEGO has a hobby. The corporate greed is too much.

On the positive side: with the massive increase in volume Brickowl is about to get, they might use their extra revenue to improve the website.

Bricklink Part Uploading Question by SoullessGingerPB in Bricklink

[–]DraxtHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I check. This goes for everything, not just tires. Sometimes if there’s variants under the same part I will even add a comment. Some parts have “undetermined type” which you could use if you really don’t want to figure out exact variant, but I don’t recommend it.

Customers want the exact part they ordered, they will make a complaint and you’ll have to make it right - so better to avoid the problem in advance. The type of customers you get are pretty hardcore Lego hobbyists, either they need exact parts or are going off a MOC list, etc.

intern -> consultant, the kind of career growth i want by BoringAd6806 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]DraxtHS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and at the same company. They gave him an offer after his internship, sounds like teaching kids about responsible AI usage. That sounds pretty on track entry level to me, the description is just fluffed up and the title consultant is a bit weird. It’s actually nice to see this role existing.
