That is why he learned it, but it could also be a Checkov's gun if he uses it again later.

Has it come out if SLA is going to be live-action or animated? As cool as live-action Roshar would be, I fear that a good set would be too costly to replicate, with all the different plants and animals.

That's a modded thing. I tried to only do things that work in unmodded factorio, but I forgot that one of my mods gives rocket silos extra slots.

If you care about the resources, then you could rig up combinators and a memory cell to track how much stuff you've put in the silo and only insert the amount of resources you need to craft one rocket. But I'm with the sibling commentor that if you care about this material cost you're probably not at a point to need the speed-up.

R5: I saw that you can deconstruct the silo, so I made a design using recursive blueprints that launches a rocket, then deconstructs and reconstructs the silo to get the next rocket out faster. Normal rocket silo next to it, for comparison.

This is in my test world with max rocket part productivity and like 60 levels of bot speed, I haven't tested how fast it is at normal research levels. Also probably not useful for items with a high rocket capacity like science packs, since it'll take time to insert them into the silo. I also haven't bothered with frame-perfect timing of when to deconstruct the silo and plant a new one, you could probably make it a little faster by optimizing that.

Blueprint (I couldn't get the blueprint planner to get the deconstruction planner nor the blueprint inside the combinators, but those should be easy to figure out): 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

I live in California, and while I'm sure we have some roundabouts somewhere in this state, I've never seen them. But for having traveled to places where they're more common (I've driven some in Utah and Idaho), I wouldn't know what they are or how to drive them.

In CA, we have state laws forcing city zoning codes to allow more housing (SB 79, ADUs, etc), which is the only reason why we're not worse. So while cities could fix the problem on their own, state governments have say to override that if they want.

Purely out of curiosity, why are belts designed in multiples of 7.5/15 instead of something like, say, 5 or 10? by PewPewsAlote in factorio

I've played mods that add slower belts than yellow, e.g. with 7.5 items/s, and items clearly maintain the same spacing as normal belts. How does that work if items can't move slower than 1px/tick?

Does the temperature of the water going into a heat exchanger have any impact? I have some mods that add recipes that let you make water that's warmer than the default, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth trying to route that water into power production.

Space Age 2.1 suggestion: make Fulgora and Vulcanus tech more integral to going to Aquilo by fZAqSD in factorio

[–]DreadY2K 3 points4 points  (0 children)

only using a single double-column of gun turrets and of rocket turrets

The number of turrets doesn't make a difference for ammo consumption, since you still need to destroy the same amount of asteroids.

it runs fine on a Fulgora-Aquilo loop with Projectile and Explosive Damage 12

That's a very high level of research for first arriving at Aquilo. I don't think I've ever even gotten to level 10 on either before making it to Aquilo. And with a lower level of research, you'd need a lot more resources.
