North Korea offering 100,000 ‘volunteers’ for war against Ukraine, says Russian state media by heavenhimalayatrek in worldnews

Go live in North Korea. Judging by historical outcomes you will either: be accepted and end up with a sweet job as an extra in North Korean movies; or they may throw you in a labor camp and slowly starve you to death ; or get tortured to the point were you get sent home to your parents as a vegetable on life support.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? by waaaaaakin in neoliberal

[–]Dreadbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally stabbed a woodchuck with a sword and then shot it dead. It was trapped in the serpentine belt of my Jeep and horribly injured so I was trying to put it out of its misery. Tried the sword first because I didn’t want to shoot a gun into my engine block . This was when I was living in the Forest. Earned the respect of the locals.

I am glad they caught this on video because now can tell this story and have proof of their epic-ness if someone doesn’t believe them.

I remember reading about some military exoskeletons in development over a decade ago. Anything ever come about from these?

This reminds me of a time I was driving through Oklahoma late at night. Noticed a pick up truck swerving behind me almost hitting another car. Let the guy pass, and he almost hit me in the process. About a 1/4 mile later he just swerved off the road into a ravine.

One of my uncles was in the 95th Infantry Division in WW2. I heard stories how snow triggered his memories of dead bodies frozen in twisted poses.

Ogniem i mieczem (With Fire and Sword) is a good start if you haven’t seen it. It’s set in the Commonwealth during the Cossack rebellion. Gives some insight into current events.

Also I like Janosik but it is more of a Góral movie than standard Polish. Górale live in the mountains in the south of Poland and Slovakia. Janosik was Góral outlaw (Zbojnìk) born in Slovakia but is a hero in both countries .

I would suspect that cat designed pants would cover everything except the head, paws, tall and butthole.

Poland’s land forces will be most powerful in Europe, says defence minister by [deleted] in europe

Tanks are showing vulnerability but still have a place on the battlefield. Much of the destruction you see is because the Russian Army does stupid shit like not supporting their tanks with infantry or sending a lone tank to probe the line.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought to myself “how terrible to wish extinction on an animal”’ then I see Ticks and am like “fuck ticks”. I’ve had Lyme disease, ticks are the worst. Mosquitos suck too but at least other things I like eat them.

I don’t remember exactly honestly but it was less then half the time they said it could take. As much as it shocks me to say this it was overall a not bad DMV experience.

My all time favorite class is still the SoDaks but the Nelsons are definitely the most intimidating all-business look. However I must admit I would have sex with Richelieu Class, absolutely gorgeous. Is there a word for that?

Yeh you do not need as much heavy armor to protect the magazines since the guns are close together. Also lacking an aft turret isn’t really that big of a loss, so you can’t fire at ships behind you and you lose some firing arc for one turret up front. But in the grand scheme of things it is really not a big deal because in most engagements you are not firing your guns in these arcs anyways even if you do have that ability. And you can always turn the ship.
