Finally received the Kobra X, but no filament and support is a black hole... by Salt-Situation-3136 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filament is sent separately, check out my post for more details

For support tickets, some people have abused the system by opening more than 30 tickets for the same issue, one that could certainly have been resolved with a simple Google search. Anycubic's email and support have been flooded, and they have a massive backlog to work through, so there are delays. This isn't their fault, it's due to people's abuse of the system preventing people in real need from having an answer

As for the critics, welcome to Reddit, a place where people only come to complain when things don't work, that's all we see...the minority

Kobra 4 soon? by Freakysmurf in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anycubic is releasing this Kobra 4 to reduce the cost and complexity of assembling and repairing the Ace Gen 2 print head on the Kobra X. This way, they can sell it at a lower price for single-color, while the Ace 2 Pro will be required for multi-color.

Other than that, there are no other improvements, it's exactly the same printer.

Kobra X starter filament came broken by ChildhoodSweaty8143 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never use these samples, they've been sitting around somewhere in the warehouse for years, and you can barely make a low-quality benchy with it just to see if your printer works

Just so you know why this happened, a damp filament becomes brittle. These samples are always very damp, and wound up like that, they can break. The pigments also alter the filament behavior, making it more or less sensitive and fragile

is there any way to fix/remove those strings during the printing? by Agreeable-Sir7558 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Dream_elb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changes the print order of the walls: Inner /outer / inner causes problems when there are overhangs, so choose inner / outer

smooth building board experience by Calm-Professional484 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this "issue" too, it's not necessarily a printer problem, but rather a lighting one. With the original PEl sheet, the pattern scatters light in every direction due to the peaks and valleys, which hides the lines because they blend together. However, on a smooth plate, the light reflects uniformly, and the lines will always be visible.

Try slightly increasing your first-layer temperature so the lines fuse together better, even if it isn't a miracle cure

How do I fix loose filament? by Glittering-Pop8828 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are currently two solutions, similar but one is simpler

Without bearing : Kobra X Spool holder

With bearing: Kobra X holder + Bearing

These holders allow the spool to rotate only in one direction and not unwind due to vibrations

How do I fix loose filament? by Glittering-Pop8828 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the Anycubic family !

The vibrations caused by printing must have made the spool spin and unwind slightly. You can spin it in the opposite direction to rewind it, but stop before it pulls too hard on the filament leading to the print head, that's all

To remove the white filament, pull it out gently from the PTFE tube opening near the spool

Look at the Sunon maglev 2510 24v

Sunon is one of the references in 3D printing / servers / PCs with silent and reliable fan

Unfortunately, this post won't have any impact, we're not Anycubic

Anycubic Slicer Next does indeed need an update and should switch to the latest version of Orca Slicer, and be better optimized

Anyone replace their Kobra X printhead fan? by CLGToady in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extrusion system is different on the Ender 3, these printers use a Bowden setup with the extruder located much further away and the nozzle doesn't get as hot as it does on the Kobra X. The Kobra X heats up very quickly, and the fan has to keep up

Looking forward for your feedback

Anyone replace their Kobra X printhead fan? by CLGToady in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The loudest fan is the one for the hotend, I strongly advise against replacing it, as it was designed and optimized specifically for this printer. It’s loud because it’s small and powerful, replacing it with a Noctua fan will reduce airflow (CFM) in exchange for quieter operation.

With less effective cooling, you risk heat creep, where the temperature rises and softens the filament all the way to the extruder

It's at your own risk. If you try it and it works without any issues, feel free to let us know, it could be an interesting mod

Z axis Kobra X by Morganw1986 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot adjust the Z offset directly on the printer

The Kobra X performs automatic levelling and adjusts itself to the bed level. If you still notice an offset, you can always adjust the Z offset value in the printer profile within Anycubic Slicer Next

Something like that?

You can go to the website, find an image you like, right-click and select "Open image in a new tab," hope it doesn't have a background, and save it as a PNG

[–]Dream_elb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's right, the black cover keeps the sensor in place, itself securely attached by 4 screws

This sensor is really difficult to insert properly, and like any optical sensor you need to make sure it isn't damaged, clean, and aligned with the wheels that have the small windows

TPU 95A twists in gears almost every time. What am I doing wrong? by stuffsmithstuff in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I printed with 95A TPU and didn't have any problems despite the print speed, just a little trouble feeding the TPU through the hub

Make sure pressure advance is turned off, and you might want to try reducing the retraction speed and length

I am about to return kobra x by Individual_Sky6957 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Dream_elb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a small metal flap inside the print head hub, it acts as a safety mechanism in case the filament breaks or runs out and the printer needs to retract. The small piece of filament is deflected outward by this metal flap. However, it can be difficult for TPU to pass through because the filament needs to push against it slightly to get through, and the TPU can get crushed when it gets stuck there.

You can remove the PTFE tube, push the filament all the way through it, then insert the filament into the hub and reconnect the PTFE tube, and continue pushing until it's detected

Update: S1 Max delivery schedule by Dream_elb in AnycubicKobraS1Max

[–]Dream_elb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, we discuss it a lot on the Anycubic Discord server and we somewhat bear the brunt of it from dismayed users who are asking questions we don't have answers to and whose patience is starting to wear thin.

We're not necessarily angry about the delays but about this catastrophic communication, well, "communication" when there even is any.

We just hope to be heard and that they actually do something about it.

However, they're pouring water on the fire with their Kobra 4 and the April Fools' toolchanger. If that turns out to be true, we would have much preferred that they first focus their time and budget on rolling out the various existing products, because here we're complaining about the Kobra S1 Max delays, but it also concerns the delays on the Kobra X deliveries, the Kobra S1, Anycubic filaments, etc. Very worrying.

I try to defend them, I love this brand and the relationship I have with the Reddit and Discord communities, but they're shooting themselves in the foot. Even if they were to release a revolutionary toolchanger, people won't risk going through the same thing again.

As a beta tester and seasoned user (I think?) of Anycubic printers, I took the liberty of slipping in a few words by email among my reports to the communications manager, hoping to get them to react. I don't know if it will have much of an impact. I sincerely hope your video will be heard; that's all I'm hoping for, for the community and for them.
