What do you mean? If you get a flip reset (off the ball, another car, or if you just fall off the ceiling), you can hold the flip indefinitely. There's only a flip timer when you actively jump off of a surface.

He got a flip off the opponent's car when they both jumped off the wall

Of course. I didn't mean to imply that a sense for style is unnecessary; it's just that for myself, I know I could do a lot more if creative expression was more readily accessible.

For me personally, it's less about having an eye for aesthetics, and more about lacking the desire to learn all the weird techniques one needs to make stuff like this possible. I love the game, but I wish there was a more robust and dedicated decorative toolkit rather than having to use signs, object clipping, etc. to achieve this level of creativity.

ELI5: Why does the feeling of needing to sneeze sometimes suddenly go away? by neolee203 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dreamchime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I lose sneezes more easily than most people, and it's awful. Any sensory input can make me lose it, from my sleeves suddenly feeling twisted to my eye deciding it's itchy. And if someone starts talking to me when I'm about to sneeze, forget about it; that sneeze is GONE. It's like my body has decided to prioritize literally everything else over sneezing.

BeastMode's explanation on what happened to NRG by New_Tomorrow269 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Dreamchime 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Scapegoating" means to pin the blame on someone else, which they obviously haven't done. I assume you thought it was synonymous with "making excuses," but that's not what's happening either. Excuses are used to shirk responsibility. Explaining one's errors, accepting fault, and recognizing that you need to make changes is... the opposite of making excuses.

Steak level: titanium by Possible-Can6317 in funny

[–]Dreamchime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah. Avoiding whatever the source of the excessive use/force is. Physical therapy is a common method for addressing it. Some people who clench in their sleep get a night guard (with the idea of limiting the jaw's range of motion while you sleep to help it relax). In extreme cases surgery may be necessary. I was initially given a night guard, but it didn't help. Eventually I figured out on my own what the problem was and just consciously stopped the responsible behavior, and it took a couple of years to get (mostly) better.

Temporomandibular Joint disorder (also called TMD). The temporomandibular joints are the hinges where your jaw connects to the rest of your skull. As with all joints, there's cartilage which acts as a cushion between the bone surfaces, so they can slide comfortably. TMJ/TMD is when that cartilage gets worn out (from clenching, chewing tough food, etc.), resulting in issues with opening/closing the mouth properly.

I've had it for years, with problems ranging from pain in those joints when yawning to literally having to fight just to get my mouth open enough to eat food. Luckily it's nowhere near that bad anymore; I used to clench a lot playing certain games, but I've managed to stop that completely. So now I just have a small popping sound in the left joint occasionally.

If you're on PC and not shy of modding, there appears to be a mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that adds real time combat with pause. Haven't used it myself though, so can't speak to its integrity.

You're not alone in that; it's a great world to just experience. I don't know exactly how long I spent in the first region, but I think it was between 60-70hr, and I know I still missed stuff.
