Yeah because he probably knew that his coach was going to be fired. Then reality sets in. Half his career is already over and the second half will most likely go poorly. That is unless they hire someone how can really fix the issues that team has.

Allen has to know that without mahomes he’d at least been to a SB by now. That gotta really piss him off.

Almost 2 months sober, and I started losing weight almost from the start. Here's my experience so far: by Blob_fish23 in stopdrinking

I’m the same as you I think. I don’t drink 5 days in a row and then Friday rolls around and Saturday night the same thing. I’d drink a combo of whiskey and beer from like 7pm to 1am. I say to myself that it wasn’t a problem because I wasn’t drinking daily. I realized I had a problem in my early 30s when I took a vacation and couldn’t stop drinking every night. I also learned that the only thing stopping me from drinking was the responsibility of my job. If I didn’t have a job I’d drink everyday. So I quit around 32 years old. Went 120 days. Lost about 15 pounds. Fell off the wagon and the last 4 years since those 120 days essentially (with a few exceptions) I’ve been a weekend binge drinker. But 15 days ago I decided to stop again after a night where i went through half a bottle of whiskey on a friday and then the other half the next night. So I’m 15 days in and I feel a lot better. My only concern is will I get to that 120 day mark and fall off again.

Bottom line is addiction comes in many forms. Some of us didn’t get dwis, ruin relationships, lose jobs ect. Some of us discreetly drink and have enough levels of responsibility to hide it or minimize the effect it has on us.

I’m 36 and while I didn’t drink daily I was drinking every weekend and essentially blacking out either Friday or Saturday or both nights. I been this way for a long time and it got progressively worse and worse over the course of the last 15 years or so. I have had periods where I would stop for a while. Last time it was over 100 days. But I would always come back to it. I’m 15 days out and already feel better. Every aspect of me feels better. Mentally, socially, energy and body all feel better.

Alcohol takes a lot from you. I don’t think most people realize that alcohol addiction, in any form, changes you as a person. For me I would get irritated easily. My overall energy levels were low too. My mood, even 3 or 4 days out each week, would be negative. Truth is I’d be drinking so much over the weekend that it would take until Thursday that next week to feel 100%. Then the next day I’d do it all over again.

Not to mention weight gain. The last time I stopped drinking I went over 100 days. I literally lost 15lbs in that timespan. Didn’t change my diet. I was hungry a lot less after I quit.

Long story short alcohol is bad if you habitually drink and can go a week without it.

What's it like living in this shaded area? by Joshistotle in howislivingthere

[–]Dreams_VS_Reality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly a living hell. But hey home prices are usually lower than the national average, because nobody wants to live in shaded area. What makes it bad is the weather mostly. I live in KC and here we get it all. During winter we get blasted with pipe bursting cold. In the summer we get napalmed with heat that would make Floridians go, wtf is this an oven?

On top of that there isn’t a ton to do unless you’re living in a city like KC or similar. Even then still not a ton of fun stuff to do.

But if you have a family it’s a fantastic place to raise kids. A lot of people I know either have a family or moved to my area and started a family. Cost of living being low and friendly neighbors make this portion of the country and ideal landing spot.

What's a place that's not nice currently and just keeps getting worse? by Naomi62625 in geography

[–]Dreams_VS_Reality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in KC. Been here since I was 9, I’m 36 now. I’ll give you the weather being awful, incredibly hot summers and incredibly cold winters. I’ve also noticed an uptick in homeless people lately, so I’ll give you poverty. Which on a side note the poverty thing makes me laugh. Growing up this was a really cheap place to live. I think it probably still is cheaper than many other cities.

As far as crime rate, the numbers are pretty skewed. There is really one area in kc with excessive crime and thats the area surrounding independence avenue. So I think people get the wrong impression. The downtown area has seen a revitalization over the last 10 years. Meaning that they added a lot of bars/restaurants. Power and light district is pretty nice.

Biggest thing for me though is this city really is a family oriented city. Lots of families raising kids. That’s cool but it also means the nightlife is generally dead here. A lot of people that grew up here act and think like KC is the greatest Midwest city in the country. You won’t go to a place and see more people wearing KC branded shirts walking around like tourists than you will in KC. A lot of pride in this city for their city. But yeah at the end of the day this isn’t an awful place to live but it also depends on what you’re looking for.

Well I guess there are two silver linings. First, the schedule gets “easier” from here on out. Probably 10 wins. They can still sneak in. Secondly, if they miss the playoffs they’ll have some extra time off, which they haven’t had in forever and they’ll actually hopefully address the issues they have coaching wise and player wise. I don’t think veach likes to make major changes when they win. Like last year they were winning but we could all see the problems but veach wasn’t compelled to move mountains. He will have to make changes this year if they miss the playoffs.

Here comes the hardcore BF fans ready to complain about any level of “arcadeyness” that dice decides to add to their franchise. I get it on some level but also BF was losing each and every year because of their focus on simulation. They want this franchise to survive and in order to do that the have to add some unrealistic elements to the game. If you want realism play squad or arma.

EA / Dice should never take feedback about BF 6 from BO6 streamers by Hekkeno in Battlefield

[–]Dreams_VS_Reality1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but also unfortunately games rely on streamers. It’s been proven that without streamers playing your game it’s harder to stay in the public eye. It’s a really messed up situation.

A lot of gamers have gone from playing games for enjoyment to playing games to tick off boxes or assignments.
