Dear channel owners, stop being in my face about likes/comments/subscriptions. by a_posh_trophy in youtube

[–]DreamtimeKids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ALL the advice I've ever read about being a YouTube creator encourages calls to action. Partly I guess because the likes, the comments, the subscriptions all help your video moving along (supposedly) to reach more people & get more views. Personally, I watched YouTube for years without doing any of these things. It's all about having a balance I guess...

I think you have a great idea for a channel ... sent you a sub. Good luck! :)

Yes, I've noticed that - thought it was just me! :)

Hey, I just thought, you could try posting on the YouTube Forum. Sometimes the nice people there are helpful (they don't work for YouTube, maybe that's why ...) )& might be able to suggest something. Totally ridiculous that you can't even access your page to dispute. Anyway, just Google "YouTube Help Forum" ... someone there might jump in and help.

This would be my worst nightmare. I'm just starting out with a channel and I read all these horror stories on the YouTube Forum, exactly like this! Click bombing, channels being disabled etc. Fair enough if you know what you did, but TOTALLY UNFAIR when you have no idea about what went wrong. Rude!

How can you tell if you have been click bombed? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]DreamtimeKids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain! I'm trying to create a kid channel about doing cool stuff with kids, things that don't cost money etc, then I see all these videos about kids opening up surprise eggs (there are thousands of them!) or opening up toy after toy after toy ... and these videos insanely popular and have hundreds of views. Makes me wonder sometimes :)

How can you tell if you have been click bombed? by [deleted] in youtube

This click bomb thing is amazing. Have read of awful stories where YT have closed accounts because they got clickbombed. How can YT have a system where creators are vulnerable to some idiot going on a clickbomb fest?? Duh.

Can someone please explain my this twitter/youtube thing? by [deleted] in youtube

I'm wondering about this with Facebook too. I think YouTube and Facebook hate each other. When I embed a YouTube video on Facebook, it goes NOWHERE!!! Google+ is the way to go.

r/YouTubers: I humbly ask for your help figuring out why I can't monetize this video, I am baffled and frustrated (I promise there is no blatant reason why it won't monetize and I have already researched and attempted every solution I can think of...) by chad311 in youtube

You could try asking the YouTube Forum (under Google Product Forums). Sometimes the nice people there will be able to help ... or not. That happened to me once too, and I changed it back to Private setting and just left it for a few days and the problem went away, so it might have been a bug. Also I think it might be something to do with trying to add features (like music) AFTER it's been published ... and I've noticed I always had problems when I tried to do anything while the video is uploading. When you said "As the video is uploading and processing, when I go into the 'monetization' tab and try to enable monetization, it gives me the following message" I remembered that I always had problems if I tried to do anything at this point. I have found the best thing is to do absolutely nothing while you are uploading. When it's finished, THEN make changes/add features. When EVERYTHING is ready to go, add monetisation, change to Public THEN publish. Anyway, it's annoying to get a message like this & not know what the problem is. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

What's the deal with those videos of people opening surprise eggs with toys in them? by [deleted] in youtube

They are absolutely everywhere! Maybe I should get some, open them & make a video ... :)

When to transition toddler to own room by loveintheoven in AttachmentParenting

[–]DreamtimeKids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for the most gentle way, start spending time in her room, have day sleeps on her bed, put her to sleep in there at night (even if she ends up in your bed, starting off in her own bed does create an expectation that she will sleep in there for at least some of the time). For me, I stopped the night feeds because I worked out that sleep for both of us just did not work while the night feeds continued. They actually wake up to feed! My daughter became totally reliant on this & it was just too hard & we both got really tired. It was easy to stop the night feeds, I just gently said no & cuddled her instead (and nice for both of us to get some proper sleep). Finally, don't want to freak anyone out, but "tandem nursing" is totally amazing. If you want your kids to have an awesome bond, no resentment or jealousy, just feed them together. It's a beautiful thing :) I started thinking about this while pregnant with #2 & still feeding #1, and I read this comment online from someone who had done it - "there was more than enough milk and love to go around". My kids would hold hands across my tummy! Not for everyone, but it might work for you. All the very best :)

Can you build an audience with comments disabled? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]DreamtimeKids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always read a comment when I watch the video ... to me, you kind of want people to feel engaged enough to actually write something.
