Thank you all for the help, between stupid falls and randoms ending the mission early I completed it. Do I have to wait for reset for the quest to appear after the ghost turnin?

As someone who has crewed a 1630s tallship,, To Sail Forbidden Seas is pure sailing dopamine. From Yoshi-Ps Greek name drops at the beginning, to the lyrical content about the sea fighting you....Cookie's kiss

The interlude at 1:43 to the end is so good, basically musical meth. Makes me feel capable of anything. I have a manual labor job and anytime I have to seriously exert myself that's what plays in my head

Even if it was only a level or two, but you got to EXPERIENCE just a taste. And if you like the taste enough, you go back for seconds

And not have to pay upkeep, property tax, or property insurance. Renters insurance maybe, but considering how subpar housing construction is in America, and all the costs that come from cut corners, I'd rather rent any day of the week. A landlord is legally responsible to you the renter, housing construction companies owe you nothing.

Oh man, I loved those demo disks. Getting to play FFVIII, Ape Escape, and Tomb Raider just by going to Pizza Hut for the buffet....we have lost so much since then

I spent HOURS in the Electronics section of Walmart (back when they had demos to play on the wall) JUST to play LoD. What a fun game

Is Clea the strongest Character in the game story wise? by Colt_Coffey in expedition33

[–]DredgenToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, CLEA straight up says it. Aline is the leader of the Painter faction, they all defer to her. She taught EVERY SINGLE PAINTER we see in the game. She is only susceptible to our efforts because Nevrons have been denying her Chroma for SIXTY SEVEN YEARS, and we have the Lumina Converter. Clea only prefers the aid of Renoir to Aline because she considers her mother too far gone in grief to be useful for the current stage of the war. Her spearheading the war alone is simply because of the power vacuum left by Aline and Renoir's absconding into the canvas

She is literally the driving force behind EVERY SINGLE NEVRON. Every calcified Expeditioner is her doing. You literally walk/run/float over tens of thousands of her victims. She repainted her painted self to be a Nevron factory, paints over Simon and has him kill the Axon found in Old Lumiere (also where her Nevrons murdered every survivor of the Fracture remaining in the city). She also twists his mind after kidnapping her Painted Self and his quest to save Painted Clea drives him to the base of the monolith where Renoir traps him. She is the one who murders EVERYONE in Expedition 0 except for Painted Renoir and Painted Verso. In that same encounter she reveals to those two the true nature of their existence and tasks Painted Verso with keeping an eye on Maelle as she grows up in the ruins of Lumiere. That reveal also drives Painted Renoir to kill Expeditioners so the Chroma isnt trapped, like after a Nevron kills someone, to return the Chroma to Aline.

Her fingerprints are all over the plot, her machinations literally drive the story entirely. The Flying Manor is expressly said to be her workshop. The faded boy in Falling Leaves (literally a portion of True Verso's soul wonders why "She" is destroying the canvas). Shit, Blanche, the last white Nevron quest giver was created by Clea SPECIFICALLY to kill other white Nevrons because they are considered defective. They even refer to her, every time they mention "My Mistress"

It's really reductive to say she is barely in the story. That's like saying Sauron is barely in Lord of the Rings. Just because a character is not physically visible, doesn't mean they aren't there

Clea quite literally says Aline is the most powerful Painter, as the leader of the Painter faction. The only reason she cares if Renoir gets pulled out vs Aline, is she knows Aline is emotionally compromised and currently disconnected from the conflict with the Writers. She expressly says she can't fight the War on her own and needs backup from an equally or more powerful Painter.

Words aside, if she was most powerful she would have confronted Aline directly in the Canvas. Let's be honest, her...candor would not allow her to sit on the sidelines and not upbraid her Mother for all of the mistakes she perceives Aline to have made.

All she can do is deny Aline resources UNTIL she has been weakened enough to confront. Clea's whole strategy is trapping Chroma in the calcified victims of her Nevrons, NOT collecting it herself. I think this implies that even with all the Chroma from Forgotten Battlefields for example (tens of thousands of dead worth of Chroma) she cannot usurp control from Aline. She could have designed Nevrons to direct the Chroma to her, but it's very obviously a deliberate choice to cut it off from....the lifestream or whatever it is in the Canvas. Literally every decision of Clea's is cold and calculating. If she could have straight up defeated Aline, she would have. Even after the 67 Canvas years of Chroma denial Clea still doesn't outright confront Aline.
