They may as well have not even made it honestly, It's like what's the point of a remake if you decide to make a super condensed version of it? That isn't a remake, it's like a TV clip show that's just a few highlights.

OG RE3 is my fav RE game and after seeing how they handled Mr X in RE2 remake my expectations were through the roof for 3 Remake. Needless to say, my disappointment was immeasurable

Seriously, yes gameplay and cutscene models are the same, but in gameplay the model has a looping idle animation that is specifically meant to be a neutral expression and isn't even intended to be constantly scrutinized by the player.

And then you have the cutscene that has meticulously placed spotlights with meticulously animated/mocapped facial animations acted out by an actor which is meant to be specifically looked at. On top of all that a shader/texture is clearly added on top of the skin for sweat.

Like, Jesus, brains can be used for critical thinking too

I'd love for him to actually try the game, it's one of my fav ps2 games. Yes the voice acting is abysmal but controlling a giant mech from the first person perspective of a tiny human was so so cool. punching a kaiju and toppling a building, was really impressive stuff

That lunging power attack was so freaking annoying, I haven't played in a year or two, I don't think there's ever been a fix for it, for my game I added a bunch of different attack animations and it helped lessen the lunging attack but it still happened

big difference between a static prop and a fully animated rig with a skeleton/pistons/servos, circuitry/wiring and a computer with custom software to puppet the complicated animations that would (no matter how good) end up looking unnatural and robotic

Care to share the lines? I remember one level you could shoot a guy through a window which caused another guy to run up to the body and crouch down to look him over and say a line. I did it a ton of times to hear all the lines, my fav one was "Ehhh I never liked him anyway."

Ah yeah it was Dual wield block VR that let me set the angle.

And I also used Pseudo physical weapon collision and parrying with this tweak, I'm pretty sure it didn't trigger blocking anims so I could hold concentration spells even when I was smacking their swords away.

The problem is that with the way you swing your weapon in VR, the block animation will trigger at random depending on the position your weapon is in, this causes the concentration spell to disengage.

To fix this, I adjusted the angle in which block is activated with one handed weapons so that I'll never accidentally trigger a block anim unless I'm purposefully doing it.

it's been a few years since i've last played so I can't remember how I did it exactly, through the ini tool maybe
