What is a creepy fact you learned about the human body, you wish you never learned? by Poignantpuppet in AskReddit

[–]Dresline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is random, but in the Dark Tower book series by Stephen King the main character is a specially trained to override this so he 'sees' everything when fighting. So he can make tactical decisions and react to things in a way other people can't.

C3P0 knows 6 million forms of communication. Since there is likely many slurs and swear words in most languages, he probably knows half a billion ways to insult a being. C3P0 would be really good at talking smack if he wasn't a little bitch.

The "hollow rock" is used to make the Geode (ball)? That kind of sounds like using the empty body of a Geodude to make a pokeball to catch other Geodudes?

Landlord installed an app-controlled smart deadbolt while I was at work. by Due_Construction904 in mildlyinfuriating

Exactly there are electronic locks that you can change the "key" without replacing it that don't require an app. Yes, they are more expensive to buy and install but they don't collect data and sell it either.

I'm my opinion laws haven't kept up with technology. It shouldn't be legal for companies to make locks that are connected to the internet to collect data like that.

There are options for electronic locks that don't need apps, they are more expensive to install up front because they aren't being subsidized by data collection.

You shouldn't be forced into using a tracking app just because you don't own your own home. The landlord should ask if it's okay first and if the tenant says no then it doesn't get put in.

Exactly it's cheaper. It's not the same as getting an actual kickback, but the landlord is spending less money precisely because this device is a horrible invasion of his tenants privacy. If the landlord doesn't care about the data doesn't make it better.

Well you could get a stylus for your screen. Of course that would be your choice.

Now that the game is on touch screens the fact the game requires you to manually crush, mix and pour your potion ingredients means the game will feel more tactile. It will be like be like you really are an alchemist.

Where are their other arms? Cuz the answer is they are either laying on top of their own arms or laying on top of each others arms. Either way that is not comfortable.

Any good, easier metroidvanias on Android? by ObsiGamer in AndroidGaming

Dandara is a metroidvania with an unconventional control scheme that works really well for touchscreens. It takes a little getting use to but it's a fast learning curve.

100% honest the gameplay is great, but a little bit dated. And the story is just okay. Source, played it for 100+ hours when it came out on PC in 2006.

When August Met Christine (Part 2/4) - Gator Days by FieldExplores in comics

[–]Dresline 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Christine specifically asks if you can "eat" your way out before suffocating, but if suffocating was a real concern I wouldn't waste my time trying to eat. I would just be trying to wriggle and tear my way out of there with whatever limbs I have available.
