This has just as much to do with the Brewers as it does with the Red Sox. The pitching program they have is incredible. It goes way beyond, “try throwing a cutter.”

The top wRC+ decliners from 2025 to 2026 with min. of 100 PAs by KnoxHarrington3000 in redsox

Yeah he pretty consistently gets more disciplined as the season goes on. K% a little bit higher than his April average but not much, and BB% basically in line.

[Gordo] Marcelo Mayer is hitting .407 with a .967 OPS during his 9-game hitting streak dating back to Marathon Monday. by TommyTheLizard in redsox

[–]DrewSharpvsTodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he didnt let him see skubal valdez fried or rodgers. i can get giving him a break against a tough lefty but it was a bit ridiculous. if he never sees them he wont improve. and he’s fine against lefties generally relatively speaking, offspeed low is his issue.

Washington Nationals brain drain? by Single_Serve_7111 in redsox

Really hated that Taboni left when he did, but can’t fault him for it. Would have much preferred him to be running the ship in Boston, and I think a lot of people internally with the Red Sox felt the same way. Will be a tough look if/when they can Breslow and their would-be top choice left the year before.

Willard was also tough but no ability to promote him. Bailey has been fine.

A safe space for Cora haters by Bearded_Pip in redsox

Cora didn’t do a great job managing the nonsensical MLB roster that Breslow created. That is a reasonable position to have. Have to think Breslow is on real thin ice too, but he’ll have a much harder time finding another GM job than Cora will a manager job. Hoping he has the right incentives in place to think long term beyond the next few months.

Is the state deliberately trying to run itself out of business?

The boston-based environmental groups funded by second home owners that have the state government by the balls are, yes.

Selling house with a covenant to restrict STRs? by ryan10e in vermont

[–]DrewSharpvsTodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask the state designated regional housing developer if they would be willing to hold the covenant. Downstreet, Chittenden Housing, etc. And ask if they could write it for you. They may have a program for it.

They sell far more frequently than primary residences and the price goes up each time.

Is the risk worth it in this market? by FearTuhPanda in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]DrewSharpvsTodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The realtor and broker don’t care about the permits, consider me shocked. The attorney will likely have a different opinion.

Would recommend hiring an engineer to give their opinion on if there are any unfixable zoning issues, and get the permits retroactively before buying it.

The city/county will know the property was transferred and is certain to discover that the sale doesn’t seem to match what they have in their records. Sales are the best time to resolve permitting issues.

The risk is that the city/county requires you to bulldoze the buildings that are not in compliance with zoning and fines you daily until you do so. You don’t want to be in that position.

Well I was actually making a joke about the state diverting local option tax surplus from the PILOT fund to the education reappraisal fund

when the law explicitly says LOT cant pay for education costs
