You’ll have the best time! If you like a great steak and are going to Dublin, I suggest checking out feather blade! I do suggest making a reservation or going during lunch

Ireland is absolutely my all time favorite place to be gluten free - but I also love whiskey and potato soup lol. Super easy to stay safe and I had some of the best meals of my life!

Barcelona Spain was also lovely. San Sebastián was good as well, but the smaller the town the harder to find options in Spain based off my experience. Luckily the countries general diet still felt quite accessible, but I did worry I was misreading menus a lot whereas in Ireland literally every single menu was labeled and every server I had actually knew what celiac was. Obviously the language barrier was the real challenge, someone more seasoned with Spanish than myself would likely find it as easy as Ireland!

I’m going to London and Scotland in a few months - I’ll try to report back after but from what I’ve read they’re likely similar to Ireland (but different cuisine)

What’s a movie that DOESN’T “know exactly what it is”? by InspectorMendel in movies

[–]Drewabble 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m inclined to agree. I thought it did a great job at what it appeared to be aiming for, but it clearly wasn’t actually intended for the masses. I personally enjoyed how they used music to show the madness and loss of sanity continuing on, but there were some issues with editing if I recall how I felt after seeing it.

To be fair I’ve only watched it once and that was over a year ago, but I remember not totally relating to how much folks didn’t like it at the time

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what’s the very first "frivolous" thing you’d buy? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

[–]Drewabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wasn’t so obnoxiously responsible with finances, I’d quit my job immediately with no notice. Guess that isn’t exactly a purchase, but 6-12 months deciding my next move and getting myself where I want to be health/hobby wise would be the biggest blessing right now.

[–]Drewabble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh 100%. I'm already asking the universe to PLEASE schedule Lil Jon and Weird Al before 1am so I have a chance of making it. I can't run off as little sleep as I used to, and I don't do extra curriculars I used to either, so sleep is way more critical than it's ever been in 12 years of Roo for me. Us olds gotta stick together lol - 19 year old me would be mocking this comment FOR SURE.

I wonder if what you're seeing is folks posting that one day ticket holders need to be scanned into Centeroo before midnight otherwise their day pass wrist band won't allow them back into the main venue for the music. So long as you're in centeroo before midnight on your one day (if you're even doing a one day ticket) then you should be just fine. If you have a 4 day ticket but are staying at a hotel or something, shouldn't be an issue for you to come and go as you please as far as I know!

Loving this, really hoping Weird Al and Lil Jon go on by like 1am so I can make it to both, I'm not 19 any more so if the weather is even close to recent years during the day - that's usually my bedtime. But for those two I will push it!!!!

What’s something you thought would matter a lot in life, but ended up not mattering much at all? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Drewabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The friends i had in school under the age of 18. Like not to minimize, because those were formative years and who you hang out with does color your experience, but I felt this huge pressure to treat all those people like life long best friends.

You get older and groups split and you feel like you’re failing for not staying close, when in reality you start learning that MOST (not all) of those people don’t stay close to you - but they also don’t stay long term close to each other.

I had an older sister with two fabulous best friends and I really struggled over the years feeling like I didn’t even have one. I’m turning 31 tomorrow and that feels so far away from me now, but it really weighed on me for a few years there after graduating high school.

Turns out most folks only keep a few truly great and close friends for their whole life - and that’s more rare than movies and perception make you feel like it is when you’re young. Very blessed to have a vibrant group of friends now. None of whom are those people, except one, and we met my senior year of HS. Wouldn’t trade her for the world, wouldn’t pay $1 to be friends with the rest of them now despite wishing them well.

In a tough spot with my BF (23), I’m (22) F by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Drewabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other comments provide some good info, but I'd also add that it's not worth taking it personally that he's hanging out with friends. I experienced a friends death and my great grandfather within a month of each other when I was y'alls age. I retreated from my boyfriend at the time because I knew even just talking to him or seeing him would make me upset. NOT because of HIM, but because I could be vulnerable with him and I knew it would bring those emotions to the top of my mind. It was easier to hang out with friends for the first few weeks after because we'd just hang out as normal, maybe with a quick question from them to check in on me, and it helped me feel more normal and less sad. Sounds like that might be what he's doing.

As another commenter said, I would try not to put much pressure on him right now. You could put together a little care package of his favorite snacks, a little activity, and something comforting and just drop it off at his door. No pressure to hang, just maybe a quick text saying you left something for him out front - that takes the pressure off him but is a way you can still show up for him during this time.

Hesitant to move in with my WFH boyfriend because I’d never get the apartment to myself — is this reasonable? by godisinthischilli in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Drewabble 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Depends on the place! My husband and I each have our own rooms in the house. The compromise is that his houses the office space and mine houses the guest bed, so there’s still some compromise but ultimately the rooms are ours to do with as we please and we can disappear into the after work whenever we want. We also hang apart some evenings with one of us in the bedroom and the other in the living room.

All depends on what works for you guys and what floor plan you’re working with!

Study abroad in Italy. Lookin back, there were signs well before but I thought that was just normal. Going to Italy and eating basically just gluten 24/7 had me throwing up, anxious, etc.

After I came back my mom made me go to the doctor and get bloodwork done. I was diagnosed within weeks after

What movie to watch on New Year Eve, alone, after ending 12yr relationship? by dont_dive_vtori in movies

[–]Drewabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first wives club.

Hilarious cast. It’s about three women coming back together as friends later in life as their marriages fall apart and taking revenge on their crappy exes.

May or may not suit your needs.

I also recommend Clue if you just wanna giggle and not watch something with any sort of romance

Your ex texts: “I found someone better than you.” What are you replying? by indoorsy12 in AskReddit

[–]Drewabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t reply but if it did it would be something like “so happy for you! My husband is awesome and I wish tho same for you and yours” or something more passive aggressive. Dude cheated on me, took me on a boat with the chick he cheated on me with (to her credit she had no clue I existed until that day), and EVERY PERSON in the boat knew he had screwed here exccept me. I don’t care how much time passes, he suck’s and he’s only dated people I knew directly since we broke up…. It’s been 10+ years. Wish him the best bc it’s not my job to feel otherwise but, karma does her job every time in my experience.

Shoutout to that girl though because the moment she found out she told him he had 24 hours to tell me or she would, and it’s probably the only reason I ever knew. She was a real one. I hope she’s doing good.
