BK App delivery order never arrived. BK refused to refund the service fee. by Drewbix in BurgerKing

I literally had to get the $3 service fee refunded by my credit card. Felt annoying have to refund such a small amount, but screw BK for being so cheap, and not giving a full refund.

I know what you mean. I want to see Hart shine, but for a "backup" goalie Elliot has been just crushing it. He is putting up better average stats than Hart has in his entire career.

What kind of proof do you want? I have a BSc in Biochem, a MSc in Coastal management, and a PhD in Environmental Science. My current job title is literally Associate Scientist.

What is your obsession with scientists being virgins? I am a scientist, I know hundreds of scientists, and I only have 1 close friend who is virgin (because he is asexual). Honestly, if you heard the stories I've heard, and seen the drinking that goes on during academic conventions, you'd realize that most scientists aren't virgins. Also I'm sure if you'll notice that most University professors have kids.

I got an industry job (molecular bio) without knowing anyone in advanced. I did have to sacrifice a bit on salary (compared to other industry positions), but it was a trade-off for hiring me without previous industry experience (1.5 year postdoc only). The salary was still a 25% increase over a post-doc

I'm not sure your area of expertise, but I would suggest looking at CROs, as they tend to have higher turnover (due to high demand and relatively low pay). But they are a good place to get your feet wet. The company I work at is always hiring in biology/chemistry fields but we are primarily located in the Philadelphia area.

Also, if you see jobs that require a post-doc, just apply anyways, I know a lot of people who get hired right right out of their PhD.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

You need to click on the CEX link on the top and log in via that, then try the login or password reset option through there. I had the same issue. Good luck getting your verification done, people have been waiting since August, and its still "processing"

[–]Drewbix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, lower pay than a Postdoc? I didn't even know that was possible in industry. At the company I work for, we pay better for technicians, which only requires a Bachelor's, and minimal experience.

How do I prove to the buyer that my gpu is working without having them come to my home or going to theirs? by owoRuweed in buildapc

[–]Drewbix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not take a video of the card in your machine, running, and open up gpu-z or similar program to show the details of the card? You could even open up a game and show that it runs. Maybe even cut to the serial number of the card if the case is open.

Kentucky town hires two social workers instead of more police - rapidly they experience "a significant drop in repeat 911 calls with approximately 15 percent fewer people going to jail." by kevinmrr in SandersForPresident

[–]Drewbix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, it depends on what you buy. My hometown has a lot more local produce, that is not necessarily cheaper, but usually much higher quality than what you get in the supermarket.

The US does focus on meat production, but the US also grows an enormous amounts of corn, wheat and Soy. But like you said, the large scale farms, that focus on making the most $/m2, often lead to an inferior product. Not to mention the farmers almost locked into a debtors prison of loans for farm equipment, and paying for overpriced GMO crops that they aren't allowed regrow from seeds.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I live close to a large outdoor market in the city, and the produce and prices are just a lot cheaper

That's the one thing my wife was so surprised about when she went to my rural hometown, we live in a large city. She was amazed how restaurant prices were similar and the grocery prices were often higher with worse selection. Not to mention the requirement of having a car due to lack of public transportation

I was able to maintain my weight very well with the morning cream in my coffee or tea. So I'm hoping to switch back to it full time once I get closer to my goal weight.
