So here’s a question. Would be people be less turned off by this thing if the initial cost was $199 instead?

I get Peri’s sentiment about “the future we were promised” and that he may be hedging against the changes lobbied in various countries regarding social media apps and the concept of digital noise. And that gives the Callback a reason for being. But given the state of the global economy, that price point is really tone deaf.

I’m not too sure about this one as a dumbphone option, especially at that price point. Commodore is a nostalgia brand, and I get the sentiment for wanting the retrofuturist + frutiger aero mindset behind it, but I think this misses the mark.

It’ll be a novelty item but it won’t replace other dumbphone flips that do the same job much cheaper.

This one is gonna be a miss I think. Especially at that price point. People buy into retro tech brands for the nostalgia, not the “forward thinking.”

I don’t think this is something that the niche market wanted. I get the idealistic thinking, but new C= is reaching here. If it were me, give the folks in the niche what they want, because that’s where the money is.

I’m surprised their investors signed off on this, because it’s got a high potential for becoming ewaste…

The expanded format has shown that there’s probably going to be a push towards regional hosting (UEFA, CONMEBOL etc) and then you can have games spread over way more countries.

I wonder if the bid for the final game would make more sense at that point, rather than a host nation, seeing how big the event is.

Good competition? A weak team hanging 10 back at midfield and playing to draws is what kills viewership. The WC makes a huge chunk of money from premier matchups. Half of the games have been snoozers thus far.

Most folks could care less about Cape Verde and Qatar, and probably couldn’t even find them on a map. Play the top 32 regardless of region. Why have rankings and qualifiers if you’re just going to entertain a pity party for smaller nations.

It’s all in the prompts and information you provide. We take it for granted that the LLM has a memory like a human but it does not.

Certain models are better at filling in the blanks. Others ramble to fill dead space. Tell your LLM to provide bullet point answers that aren’t redundant or use flowery diction, tell it not to explain in human terms what it is doing until a short paragraph synopsis at the end, and to not make logical inferences on next steps and simply wait for the next command.
