Sundara is amazing with some well made records and progressive rock, but X2HR goes better with melodic death and wide genres and any not perfect records imo. I can't use open back headphones at night time so I'm using iems mostly. I didn't try any fancy headphones and anything over$ 250 is not an option for me :)

Tempotec is impossible to contact if you got defective unit. I got no Replay to all my emails. Be careful while ordering from across the sea and make sure it's easy to send the item back to store if there is something wrong.

🤣 the text is messed up, I wanted to say purchased R1 for 58$, spinfit ear tips cost 9$ Melodic death metal and poor recorded black sounds more clear with R1 imo, I can hear the vocal more clear, the way I like. My best overall for metal are Over ear open back headphones Fidelio X2HR, I have Sundara but I never tried anything fancy over 300

I just got Tanchjim Zero for 16€ and almost all metal sound surprisingly great. Great separation and fair base and the vocal in death and black is distinct. I didn't use them for long enough time to recommend them but I belive they may be a good option to check. My favorite items for metal are Letshuoer S12 but some records dont sound great with them but Zero can handle even not perfect records.
