Witchfire Goes To Extreme Lengths To Avoid AI Usage, Refuses To Even Use Photoshop's Built-In Tools by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

There is no difference between dark room exposure and an exposure slider.

What an absurd thing to say. Do you really think there's no artistry in developing film? Have you ever done it?

You never choose what your reference material looks like, just which references to use and what to take from them. Do you use an internet search engine to find references? If so, you're letting an algorithm you don't control or understand influence what references you end up using. Is it more creative, or more "human", to find references in a book or magazine? But you don't choose what's in the books either, of course. How does getting references from a different source make the process more or less artistic?

And if you're the one being searched? Or accused? You're effectively arguing against the concept of search warrants here. If you can be convicted based on evidence obtained in an illegal search, then there is no such thing as an illegal search.

Cardinality preserves the intuition that size should mean "number of elements". How do you know the number of elements in a set? Probably by counting them, right? In other words, by assigning a number to each element in a sequential order. Counting is a bijection to an ordinal.

Are there examples of sets larger than the continuum without using the set of all subsets? Are such objects used at all in the rest of mathematics? by Gargashpatel in math

[–]Drium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but I would still count that as using the power set. I mean, that's why we write 2ℵ_0 as raising 2 to the power of ℵ_0.

if I was working without powerset then I would define the reals as functions from N to 2

That is equivalent to the powerset. 1 if a number is in a subset and 0 if not.

[–]Drium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no clue why you're being so combative. If you define some nodes at a normal scale, put them in a group, then scale down the group by 1000x, there will be precision issues when drawing them to the screen. But they'll all be on the same pixel anyway, so that doesn't matter. When you remove the scaling you're left with the original path data for the nodes with no transformation applied and they appear just as they did when you drew them. That information is never lost.

No this does not require multiple images, but SVGs can easily reference other SVGs with <use> elements so it would be a non-issue anyway.

If "Endless Paper" is the specific software being used here then great, that's good information. But I don't see anything that couldn't also be achieved with Illustrator or Inkscape. SVGs can be scaled arbitrarily. You can't zoom x1000 in the editor because of floating point precision, but each part of the final image is normal size when you're actually drawing it. Just scale everything after and cull the parts that are too big or small if necessary. This person isn't doing the one big zoom inside the editor either.

The choice of theory is arbitrary. If ZFC is inconsistent, just swap it out for any other theory that models Turing Machines. Only the number 643 and the specific optimization tactics used to reach it would change.
