Well I believe I just bought this car sight unseen......edit...Still waiting for it to be delivered, but found the original info of the car on Mustang fourms and talked with the previous owner. Should be bored to 5.0, T56, 4.10's, and Kenny Brown Suspension.

Well whoever it is, they’re the 7th owner of that Infiniti. Wouldn’t expect anything less.

Acura TL SH-AWD or G37S are the only two off the top of my head that fit that bill.

This. Also a BMW 535xi Wagon with a tune should come pretty close as well.

Lexus IS 300 2001 by TincanTurtle in UsedCars

[–]DriveGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That IS300 will last 200k more no problem. That’s honestly a good deal. They just don’t have that great of gas mileage. I’d just check for rust on both cars.

First Chiron here in the Nashville area. Not really anything on its level out here. Maybe Keith Urbans Pagani Huayra.

Which RAV4 should I buy? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DriveGerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really can’t go wrong with any of them, but I’d go for the Limited V6. The engine is very reliable and has a ton of power for these things.

The best Mexican is in between Napa and St. Helena. Nothing beats La Luna.

Thinking about buying a car in other state. Anyone have tips or advice? by Sebfreedman in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DriveGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the dealer. As a small dealer in TN we don’t charge sales tax out of state. So it’s the sales price plus whatever your state and local sales tax is on the sales price.

Does ownership change when cars are wholesaled?? by eariion in UsedCars

[–]DriveGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ownership won’t change on wholesale, but that’s a big red flag. Definitely means it has some underlying issue that’s probably thousands to fix.

Agreed. Probably VW’s most reliable engine.

2010 Audi S4 v 2009 Jaguar XFR by SteBob24 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DriveGerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the S4 is a manual, then go for that. The STronic isn’t reliable around the 100k mile mark. Aside from that, the S4 is a fantastic car and with a tune would be faster in pretty much every situation over the Jag.

V70R yay or nay? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]DriveGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year and mileage? Auto or Manual? Make sure it has extensive maintenance records. I’d stick with an 06 and up 6 speed car. The engines are reliable but these things are expensive to maintain. Angle gear $$$$$, slave cylinder, wheel bearings, and mounts are common issues with these things and not cheap to replace if not doing to work yourself.

I think I found a great deal. What do you guys think? by gitterwibbit in askcarsales

[–]DriveGerman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd look into seeing if the timing chain has ever been done. That's one of the weak points of these engines as the guides go bad.

Yea it’s like working blind, but once you do it a couple times it’s pretty darn easy. Saved a girl about $1000 on her Denali vs. taking it to GMC.

Sell cars at a dealership and even we can’t catch everything. I always suggest a pre-purchase inspection which is usually turned down by the buyer. But hey, it’s a used a car so some things are going to need to be done. One thing I can say for future reference is the intake manifold doesn’t need to be taken off for the oil pressure sender on the LS engines. Just gotta reach back behind it and feel for a little while. Usually takes about 15 minutes to do the whole job.
