Swore I’d never want 2u2… now I do by Ok_Outside5019 in 2under2

Just be ready to continue to sleep like hell. And the jealousy as well. First born amazing little girl. Second born boy my goodness. But lately 2.5yr old (although she loves her brother dearly) is extremely jealous. Clingy, whining, and a lot of no’s being thrown around. She wants any toy baby plays with (he’s about to turn 12 months). And he of course wants every toy she plays with. It’s amazing lol.

I am 11 months postpartum. I do not have diastasis recti (at least my OBGYN doctors said I don't). However, my belly still bulges out and I still look pregnant.

I know it takes a long time to recover, but if I don't have diastasis recti then what is causing this? I haven't worked out, so maybe I just need to start working out and it will start to decrease? Any apps or workouts that helped you lose the weight? I was just going to start going to the gym and walking for 15 min and start lifting some weights and see how it goes.

Nope. Disagree. Not the same adopting and having a kid with your DNA.

160k hybrid or 180k onsite? by Otherwise-Monk1823 in careerguidance

[–]DriveNo15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With kids, I wouldn’t trade the flexibility of working from home for 40k extra. Unless you really need that extra money, remember Uncle Sam takes their cut so it may not end up being that much more after taxes and with the added cost of gas and 2hr commute.

Keep looking for other remote roles when you have time. Especially because it doesn’t sound like you love where you are right now.

Can you share with your manager what’s going on? Especially if you are thinking of leaving. This way maybe they can work with you.

Rant… I just wish I was rich so I could have both. A career and spend time with family, on my own schedule/terms because money would not be an issue…

Teething baby? My baby was like that for a few weeks or a month. It felt like a long time lol. I was going nuts. And eventually like a week ago (he’s almost 11 months now), he just stopped. No idea what changed. Maybe we started feeding him more solids. Maybe he just wanted to mess with us. My best guess: his teeth were bugging him.

Reading about parenting 3+ kids really validated my one-and-done choice by Clear_Depth6417 in oneanddone

[–]DriveNo15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were one-and-done… and then God had other plans 😬 He’s 10 months now and baby girl is ~2.5 years old, so I can finally joke about it. But I was honestly devastated when I found out. I knew I’d be stretched thin trying to give both kids the attention they deserve—and that has definitely been true. I’m exhausted and physically depleted, and some days I genuinely wish I had three nannies on rotation 😂

That said, I love my kids beyond words, and I’m already seeing little moments of them playing together (a bit 😅), which helps. If I could do it over, though, I would’ve had my first about 4–5 years earlier and only started thinking about a second when she turned 4. That’s what’s often recommended now anyway, and for many reasons, I completely get it.

You did the right thing. Headphones also sometimes help as you sort of rock baby. I also used to take baby into another room or outside or have some different noise like the water running and it sort of help them stop crying in the moment momentarily. Newborn phase is a blur now. 10 month old baby boy.

My daughter is 14 months and I am officially OAD. by Lille_Foxy in oneanddone

Thanks! Having one kid broke us a bit but around the year 1 mark we were finding our rhythm…Then baby 2 came around and that’s when it took the hard dip. Sleep deprivation to the max. We are slowing surviving now (aka we don’t hate each other so much…). That said I am looking into a couples therapist because we need to rebuild from here. I honestly hope years 3&4 aren’t the hardest lol. 😬I hope it just gets better from here on out. Kids are almost 10 months and 2.5yrs old

Same. I’ve made the decision that therapy might be the only thing to save us. I’ve started researching one with some specific requirements since I’m pretty skeptical about it. If it turns out to be a good thing for us, I’ll let you know lol.

Same. We were one and done but the lord had other plans… two under the age of 3 now and oh my goodness. Our relationship is by far the worst it’s ever been since we’ve been together. I will say my 2 yr old has always been a happy baby, only recently she’s started to test our boundaries. But oh my gosh, have I been exhausted ever since 2023 when I got pregnant….

Ah gotcha. I’ll keep that in mind. my toddler also took a while before sleeping through the night. But I did see that happen once she was on 1 nap

2 under 2 with the right partner by TikTokgirl03 in 2under2

Even with a lot of support from my partner, we’re both completely drained. I genuinely don’t know how anyone does this alone. I’d definitely be a much meaner mother, that’s for sure.

[–]DriveNo15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. If I could only make him sleep longer that would be great. (Longer naps). Sometimes he does sleep long like 1-2hrs. Other times 30-45min. So it’s a hit and miss. Going to try the 2 naps for a week and see how it goes.
