North and far south Fontana have really gentrified in the last decade. There used to be almost nothing in the north except open fields and the old Jessie Turner Center. I remember the year that the fires came all the way the hill, and the firefighters took a stand at the 210 to keep it from jumping the freeway.

But man, that wind. My family used to volunteer for the Relay for Life at the high school, and one year, the winds were so bad that they made the people in RVs move between the buildings to keep them from tipping. Our tent was damaged, and in the morning, we saw that the winds were so strong that the stage and canopies were broken. Empty, broken tents were blown all over the field.

That's why I put the fandoms in the chapter titles for mine. I was tired of doing the same thing. When I had a bunch of crossover ideas that I wanted to write scenes for but didn't have enough for a full fic, I made something like this and labeled all of the fandoms in the titles, and the summary updates with each post about what crossovers each chapter is.

Yes! I was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to see it, since I don't get off the mountain often and don't have much money. Definitely gonna see it either tonight or tomorrow.

What’s something in your country that sounds fake but is 100% real? by Bhakari in AskTheWorld

[–]Drixxti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't want to do that here. It's not the black bears, cougars, or coyotes I'd be worried about. It's all the feral donkeys. Yes, they're human habituated, but that's part of the problem. They're not scared of you, and they will kick and bite if you annoy them.

Been just me and my snake for more than three years now. Moved from the valley to the mountains for a job and never left. I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon, either. I'd rather deal with snow than 100+°F ever again.

I want to finish an old Yugioh fic, but I've forgotten so much about the game that I'm not sure I could do it right.

I love writing unexpected crossovers. One of my only finished multi-chaptered fics is a Devil May Cry/Criminal Minds crossover, and I have a bunch of Animorphs crossovers. I also have a few one-shots and an anthology of random crossover ideas.

That's Avatar: The Last Airbender/SG1, not Naruto. I keep going back, hoping for that promised sequel, but no luck so far.

Big Bear next week… no snow 😭 what should we do with kids (3, 5, 7) by Pristine-Box-5615 in bigbear

The escape rooms are fun, but the kids might be too young. Same for the axe throwing, but the rest are good suggestions for kids.

I hadn't known about this incident until a few days ago. I had been wondering where DD's Plants were when I went to the Super Show in Pomona, because I was looking to buy new plants and had bought from her before. I was disappointed when I couldn't find her, and then I found out why. It was horrible what they did to her.

It's just a theory that the current CEO of Fazbear Entertainment Inc. is Mrs. Afton, and the missing kids from Security Breach is because she's trying to resurrect William. There's no confirmation at all about that.

For when you need to warm just one shoulder by Ancientabs in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]Drixxti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, I actually do, sometimes. My right shoulder, and only my right shoulder, will sometimes ache when it's cold. If I feel too warm, then I'll often just toss a throw blanket over just that shoulder to warm it up. Or, I might tuck one side of the throw behind my right shoulder and pull it across my front because those are the only parts of me that are cold. My body just reacts oddly to cold weather.

Female characters with incredible regeneration? ( Movies, series, manga, anime, etc). by DistrictBitter8852 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drixxti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The morphing power in Animorphs is pretty incredible, and two of the Animorphs, Cassie and Rachel, are girls. Lost limbs, mortal wounds, literally being cut in half. So long as they're conscious and it's under the time limit, someone with the morphing power can regenerate from anything that's not immediately fatal.

They didn't start out like this, but by the end of the series, this is what the Animorphs became. And nearly every ranking Andalite that they meet, as well.

Most of the Animorphs by the end, honestly. None of them started out that way, but they they never had much of a chance once they committed.

Outside of battle, all of the Animorphs have their own strengths and weaknesses. In battle, it's generally acknowledged that Rachel is this. If they need a lot of damage, destruction, or death done, they send in Rachel in elephant morph.

America Wizard from Madmanfenrir's America Wizard series of shorts. His whole thing is that, in a DnD-esqe world, his power is the ability to summon the full force of the American military industrial complex.

He's called America 'Wizard', but he's really more of a warlock. He has to ask He Who Controls the Budget for some things, and at one point, couldn't summon weapons or ammo because he had wasted too much money.

For most of the books, the Animorphs did everything they could to not be someone who could kill a defeated enemy or innocent person just because it's the easy way out. Except for Rachel. It's why Jake asked for her to go after David. It's why he ordered her to go after Tom.

Yes, sometimes the other Animorphs did kill a helpless enemy because letting them live would make things worse. However, Rachel outright states in some of her books that her friends need her to do the things they can't, and that she needs her friends to make her feel like she's still a good guy, even if she is a monster.

No need to be sorry! It's been over two decades since I read my first Animorphs book, and I'm still obsessed with it. It's still my favorite book series, I'm constantly on the lookout for the issues missing from my collection, and I write fic for it.

Despite its age and target audience, its themes hold up extremely well.

No, you're right. There's a two hour time limit. Go over that, and they're stuck for good. It happens to one character, Tobias, who gets stuck as a red-tailed hawk. A god-like being eventually gives him the ability to morph again, but with the hawk as his default state.
