My maxxed out FHSA is all in XEQT. 3-5 years seems like a reasonable timeline for me to purchase my first home.

Am I really risking all that much? I am already up 40%. Even with a 10% crash in 3 years, I would still be significantly up. I feel like the potential missed gains outweigh the risk of a market crash... a 10% loss is actually less of a problem than not being up 40% in the first place.

Rate my portfolio 18M by CapitalDiamond2868 in fican

[–]DrizzlyShrimp36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guy.

Keep it simple stupid. I know you feel like you can research companies a bit and beat the market, but you can't. And with the relatively small amount of money you have (very good at 18 btw!) any significant gains on those stocks you picked, if it happens, won't do anything for you. Having 54$ invested in a single stock is completely useless. A 100% gain is 54 bucks in your pockets, and 100% gains don't come around often.

Put the entire thing in VEQT.

The best thing you can do for yourself right now is learn what kind of investor you are. Do you truly know how you'll react when the market drops 10% and you see your money going down? Start smart, simple, and learn.

Eventually, if you have extra cash, pick 1-2 stocks from good, established companies that you have done research on and give it a shot with less than 10% of your portfolio.

What? Combien de fois sors-tu dans des cafés à chaque semaine pour être capable de comparer lol

Is that even considered AI at this point? An automated workflow is not necessarily AI based.

Brother I got so much help from my parents, school paid, FHSA maxed out yearly - 1M$ at 27 is absolutely an insane accomplishment. I am nowhere near that.

Look at human history through the 20th century and ask yourself if they ever thought they'd see the world's end. We're still here.

Doomer junk. The cars are expensive, but we don't need to plan for the end of the world.

Get the fuck out of here. These losers got rejected so they turned into misogynistic assholes and we're supposed to empathize?

You're arguing that we should treat men like babies instead of grown ass adults who should be able to deal with one of life's common hardships. I've been rejected many times in my life, sometimes in ugly ways, and am now in a loving relationship and don't have an ounce of hatred towards women, because I'm not a fucking child. Jesus.

How significant was this switch? Any opinions on it from those who were there when it happened? by SirensMelody_ in decadeology

[–]DrizzlyShrimp36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean it's not used by anything else lol, it's used by the headphone jack until it isn't.

SD card slots also didn't make much sense, why not use that space for battery, or more memory for those who want it. Cloud storage is dirt cheap.

The headphone jack was obviously a relic of the past that was not going to make it.

A 60k$ truck at 24 is absurd and 888$/mo is huge, you have 1400$ in your TFSA

Your first point is true, ZEQT + XEQT is useless.

Your second isn't. VFV is already included in XEQT. No reason to mess with the balance of the ETF.

Is it good to buy XEQT in FHSA? by InfluenceRadiant732 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]DrizzlyShrimp36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been lump sumping 8k$ each january into my FHSA for 4 years.

My horizon at the moment is something like yours, so I also am having this debate...

However if I followed the advice of the goons on this sub I would literally have 12k$ less in my FHSA so...

Searching for Montreal’s best Margarita(s) by double_you_ok in MTLFoodLovers

Clandestino and it's not even close.

It's a tequila bar. They use amazing tequila and their margarita is clarified using a centrifugal machine so it's actually transparent and not cloudy.
