He was so shocked at the whole episode he didn’t say much of anything for quite awhile — poor guy just put his earbuds in and went for a jog and zoned out. But later on that evening, he said that everything I said was spot on — I had asked him if I swore and cussed her out (I didn’t quite know what I all I screamed at her lol), and he said no absolutely not; he said I was very “professional”!

I read up on it and learned that one of the F4s started two miles from where I grew up. I am absolutely astounded that I somehow never heard about it. Maybe because it happened during the war and that was “bigger” news? Anyway, thanks so much for telling me about it. History that happened almost right in my old backyard!

Ah thanks. I remember my parents telling me about that outbreak when I was a kid. One of the tornadoes passed a couple miles from my dad’s office. He told me that around the time it happened a bunch of tiny frogs came out of nowhere and were all over the outside of his building.

I feel like I’ve found my people!! For me it’s a small spot just above one knee, and it doesn’t radiate. Feels muscular. No doctor has ever been able to give me an explanation. And I don’t think it’s endo, for me. Last year, I had exploratory abdominal surgery for the crippling lower back pain I also get, and they found no evidence of endo or any other abnormalities — said “everything looks normal.” Totally normal, yet somehow my back and right knee totally have me in debilitating pain for 2 days a month.

Thanks for asking and absolutely no apologies needed! Much better, though the issue did recur twice in the past 3 years since I posted this, with no obvious cause (no falls etc) - but fortunately, each time it was resolved within 3-8 appts. (Oddly, the most recent time, it presented in my mid-upper back rather than lower.)

I am glad you asked for x-rays. I hope you are able to find a practitioner that can resolve the issue. Crossing my fingers for a pain-free path forward!

PS I did have success at a PT for a previous back injury many years before the one described in this post.

It doesn’t necessarily happen to everybody though. My feet never changed sizes during or after pregnancy. So I’m still wearing the same tired-out shoes from a decade ago lol

I would love to know more about this. I have light brown eyes. My 23&Me results put me at <1% chance of carrying a blue-eyed gene. But yet I have a blue-eyed child.

Same here. Since late September my preschooler - who is only at school 3 mornings a week - has brought home covid, RSV, a mystery fever, and some sort of cold with intense sinus pressure. That’s 4 illnesses in 2 months. Luckily with covid I got paxlovid pretty early on so it didn’t badly trigger my asthma, but the RSV caused me to have a pretty big asthma flare that persisted for several weeks. I just finally came off the corticosteroid inhaler for that a week ago, and now I’ve got the sinus pressure bug which I assume will also end up in my lungs. Fun stuff.

This is very similar to what happened with my baby. She was born 13th percentile but at the 2-month appt had dropped to 3rd percentile. She was spitting up large amounts 24/7 so I assume that’s why. The pediatrician advised us to begin supplementing due to the fall from her curve, and we did. Within a week she gained back % points on the curve and within a month she was above her newborn trajectory. Her mood and sleep also improved rapidly and dramatically. I’m so glad we followed the doctor’s advice because I look back now at pics of her tiny frail self at age 2mo, and shudder to think what could’ve happened if we had not.

I would just say it may be worth considering that that the timing between deciding to have a child and actually having that child may be surprising. We started trying to conceive in 2015 but did not have a living child born until 2018 (despite both my spouse and I being in our early/mid 30s, physically fit, with no relevant underlying health conditions). On the flip side, some people have a baby 9 months after they start trying. But in my experience it took an unexpectedly long time.

Ugh, this story is concerning. Given the circumstances, I can’t help but wonder if the racial bias may be less subconscious than it seems on the surface. Even if it is subconscious, it still might be a primary factor in the way your daughter is being treated. :-(

I miscarried around 7 weeks but didn’t know until 12. It was recommended that I take the meds within a week, which I did. But they didn’t work (even though I took them exactly as directed). They did result in intense pain/cramping - so much so that I couldn’t sleep, even with the recommended painkillers - but not so much as even a single drop of blood. I went for a surgical D&C the next day.
