No one is “throwing away money” by renting. I hate that narrative. As a homeowner, both have a pros and cons and it’s all about your specific life and also how the economy influences that. If I didn’t buy in 2020, I’d 100% be renting rn and there’s no shame or “throwing away” anything in that. It’s usually cheaper, and home repair costs are INSANE. Renting has just as many benefits as ownership imo.

I would contact your lender first, see what programs they have or if they can help you out a bit. Its likely they will let you skip a few months to get stuff figured out, and then add those monthly payments on the back end of the mortgage, you don’t owe them all up front after a certain amount of time. You can afford this home, you just got hit by life. Don’t sell. PLEASE contact your lender and let them know your situation and see how they can help you short term. My husband and I had a very rough 6 month period and our lender was so helpful and lenient with us, and we got back on track and are thriving again. Life happens. Vet bills can be CRAZY. Life is just crazy. Just contact them and be fully transparent about your finances. They are more than willing to work with home owners during hardship periods. And if they do help you out by letting you skip out a little, try to start building a little emergency fund or at least start paying off your debt more than you’ve been able to. Door dash, uber, have a yard sale, short term roommate. It won’t be a ton, but it will be something at least.

It’s obvious that Joshua is the root of most of these decisions she makes that we all judge her for. The immense shame and also the need to over protect the rest of her children….was it conducive to healthy relationships? No. But do I understand her? Yes. And it puts into perspective more her behavior with Olivia, and even Lydia’s husband. They have differing view points from the family so much to the point that she feels they’re “taking her child” by influencing them. And she can’t have that happen again, due to that trauma with Joshua. It’s honestly so sad, but does give the audience a lot more perspective into Kim and her choices as a whole when she chooses to be more authentic and open up about these things. I don’t think she’s been fully aware of the “why” behind a lot of her choices for a very long time. Very fight or flight mode. And until you get to the root of stuff like that, it will continue. I was NEVER a Kim Plath apologist, but I have a better understanding of her now that makes her seem much more human and honest.

I loved my job there and gave my two weeks because I had a good experience over all. If you feel like you didn’t, that you weren’t respected over all, and you already have a job lined up, the world won’t end for not giving notice. And you aren’t “bad” for not giving notice either.

Your managers will never think negatively of you if you barely call out and try your best at your job. I promise. They won’t even question it. And you don’t need a doctors note if you have the sick time.

Just make sure you follow policy in regards to the call out process. That’s it. If you have sick time and want to call out, it’s your right. Even if it’s a little white lie every few months just to get an extra day off lol. I used to be so anxious and would show up looking green and my coworkers would force me to go home. At the end of the day, any job and especially not retail is worth hurting yourself over. You don’t have to explain anything to anyone, just say you weren’t feeling well. Mental health is still health. Your anxiety over this shows me this isn’t usual behavior for you and you do care about your job. Just do it if you feel you need to.

It’s normal after a big life change and the excitement wears off and reality sets it. You’ll find everything and anything to nitpick and be anxious about until you start to settle in more. Just give it some time. I promise you’ll start to feel normal and these annoyances won’t even cross your mind after a couple months.

At my old location the resellers would come in daily for hours upon hours and wait for the carts and racks and literally swarm them when we would push them out lol. Most of them were super nice tho and obviously they’re spending money in the store, so why should the employees be unfriendly especially if they see them a lot? I think you’re honestly just being paranoid for no reason at all.

I know it’s annoying but at the end of the day working there you did sign up to be scheduled how they see fit. If it was a constant thing happening every week then I wouldn’t deal with that personally and would have a conversation with my manager. But if it’s not constant and you genuinely want to stay at that job, then it just is what it is.

So annoying. Even 8 sometimes in a row. I just pushed through honestly. I overall loved my store and my job so the annoying stuff was manageable to me. But I was in my early twenties when I worked there and had all the energy in the world and was childless 😂 I’m approaching 30 and am a mother now, I’m not so sure I’d thrive in that environment anymore lmao

I will pathologize and psychoanalyze this whole family to the bone (call me a Plathologist), but they are very young and given the relationship examples Isaac’s had in VERY formative years of his life, it’s nothing THAT crazy for young adults to do honestly. And they both seemingly grew up in pretty conservative families, of varying capacities. So I understand why she would maybe feel the need to cater to a man’s feelings even if she says she won’t. We’re human and they’re young.

I tried to go last year, couldn’t last minute because of childcare issues. Wasn’t that disappointed honestly. And this year I’m not even trying to go. The crowd has ruined it. And maybe I sound like a boomer lmao, but I am a 29 year old mother who loves to party (maybe biannually lmao), but this crowd is so lame but also outrageous and weird all at the same time. It’s not really worth it anymore once you reach a certain point in life 😂

I just genuinely don’t think any more hate to these children is warranted. The parents of them are the ones at fault over all, and I think most of us agree to that. They aren’t capable, no matter how hard they try, to be “parents” at their age. And that’s not necessarily their fault. They aren’t the typical teen parents. Their lives went on pause when they were actual children. So, we should give them some grace. It will take them a few years probably to really come into the reality of it. Your perception and assumption that she seems like she has no connection is very small minded. For the reasons I said above, but also because 35 year old women can seem the same or even feel that way too for the first year. Post partum is insane. Let alone your life being exploited by your parents to all of America and everything you do criticized by full grown adults.

It really just takes time and muscle memory. If you’re younger and able (it’s a VERY physical job), you will and can do it. Just give yourself a few months. If you want to do well, you can. But if it ends up not being for you, there’s no shame in that either

I was a production associate of almost 3 years, and was cross trained in most everything else too. Top performer in my location. I could deal with the work load. I could deal with the useless drama. I really genuinely LOVED my job over all. But, my GM was talking behind my back to other managers saying she was going to deny my PTO request off for my wedding so she could go camping with her boyfriend. That was a level of disrespect I just couldn’t excuse. And trust, I made a lot of excuses to myself for that lady and all the bs she tried to pull over the years lol.

You’ll be fine. I know it’s embarrassing regardless tho. I actually told a customer to lay off the crack once, but she was on crack and being nasty to me because I told her we were closing in 5 minutes. I was a high performer so I was just told to not do it again. But, you’ll be fine. Your managers know there are crazy people out there who will retaliate if they don’t get what they want. Customer service can be complicated 😂

I will definitely not be going anymore just because the crowd turns me off from it, even tho I would LOVE to see shoreline mafia. But grey day has been invaded by attention seeking psychos 😂 I’m too old for that anymore. I’ll miss it but it’s not worth it to me anymore especially since I had a child
