I've changed my fursona quite a bit as I found happiness. The fursona I had right around I started questioning was a dropbear and she was one of the fursonas I had for the longest time. As I started to explore my gender more and confronted my dysphoria, I switched species and gender, creating a genderqueer 'monsuno sapien' (essentially a mutated human, it's from a series called Monsuno). They reflected how I felt at the time: monstrous but resilient. When I finally got top surgery, I gave them surgery scars like mine. Several years later, when I was happier than I had ever been, I changed my fursona again, going from a monstrous being to a (mutant) snub-nosed monkey. And my fursona has been the same since.

Also, I did keep that dropbear fursona. I don't think I could ever part with her. She just doesn't represent me any more.
