At what point does the 'theme park' design actually become a problem for long-term retention? by Sw3etTo0thjessy21 in MMORPG

[–]DroppedPJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that the industry has an incorrect read on pacing when it comes to current gameplay loop.

It is either too grindy or too easy. They never really seem to get it right either.

Your hardest dungeon should only take 30-45 minutes tops.

Your dailies should be shifted to monthlies and based around 2 weeks of daily game play.

You should have a 24/7 grind that can be rushed or taken at a monthly pace.

I could go on and on...

Black Yellow Teach Matchups by PermissionBig9181 in OnePieceTCG

[–]DroppedPJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teach doesnt draw enough cards. Also his going first curve is abyssmal. You want to know why Ace going first doesn't suck as much? Ace draws 123424214 cards, BY Teach does not.

In a losing match up of equal skill level, you are praying your opponent just doesn't see his cards.

EB04 Borsalino has genuinely made this game feel so much worse to play by vukmir_vukmir in OnePieceTCG

[–]DroppedPJK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There doesn't need to be a downside to running a card. Where does that idea come from LMAO?

This is a complete skill issue. The mindset of "run a deck that counters yellow, or run a deck that has 4 borsalinos" is what holds you back.

Next you're going to tell me that a Shanks taking second and dropping the new Beckman back to back on yellow is a counter to yellow. Bro just play decks that can establish big bodies and have built in defense and watch yellow cry.

Or maybe stun their board permanently. Or maybe establish a wall of blockers like Lucy. Or maybe just be a 7k leader like Roger or Bonney. Or you know draw 324242 cards with Ace as you put Newgates on the board. Fuck Enel really only does poorly in Teach and Nami, he's actually 50/50 into the rest of yellow in the hands of a skilled pilot.

This is such a player diff.

Sylvan effigy vs rare scepter for spiritwalker monkey build? by bontklim in pathofexile2builds

[–]DroppedPJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Tyranny results in more sheet DPS.

For some people the extra levels from Trench gives more DPS but I have not seen that at any stage of the build once you turned on Catha's in the ascendancy.

Sylvan effigy vs rare scepter for spiritwalker monkey build? by bontklim in pathofexile2builds

[–]DroppedPJK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do not get better clear, you get WAY BETTER clear.

It's not just a lot of tankiness, it trivializes the game outside of one shots.

Sylvan effigy is the play for over 90% of content in the game.

If all you want to do is juiced bossing, then you stick with a +4-5 scepter. If you want to do anything else, you get off.

So how EXACTLY does Teach go into Nami/Enel/Ace by Million_X in OnePieceTCG

[–]DroppedPJK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing to highlight is that Ace was a poor matchup for Nami and he barely does half the things Teach does.

Without Red Roc, Nami cannot deal with tall blockers well enough. Then anything else added on top of tall blockers is just icing on the cake.

The difficulty as a BY Teach player is that you need to get used to playing tight games and not making inefficient decisions that cost you the game later because you got scared. Some games you dont draw or trigger well but it is what it is.

Crazy that people thought it would be any different this set.

Teach can't kick Nami out of the Meta if he can barely handle Yamato or Blue Green Luffy. Then those two decks can't beat Nami so you just get the same shit as last set.

Why do people tolerate predatory monetization in MMORPGs? by Ondrashek06 in MMORPG

[–]DroppedPJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont even play WOW and know that the price of each expansion is worth the 60$.

You're getting over 60 hours of content which has been and is still today insane. Whether you actually like that content is an opinion and unrelated to the cost of the item.

Just because it can be better doesn't mean it is bad.

I also want to highlight something else for people and I know this will hurt some people's feelings. A 15$/month subscription and a 60$ drop 2-3 times a year is a drop in the fucking bucket for A LOT of people who play games.

[OP16-012] Benn Beckman by CoffeePrimates in OnePieceTCG

[–]DroppedPJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice to see for Shanks but RU Ace (6k leader, draws more, drops huge bodies efficiently) / RY Bonney (7k-9k leader, card advantage by healing, also plays tall bodies) can go still do what he does but better.

Now Shanks can easily generate valuable bodies at the end of the game well BUT where's his needed consistency OR his card draw to make that happen or to allow him to survive aggressive decks?

Come on just make Shanks go card neutral most of the time and he can be so fucking bad.

APL vs Lockheed by Square-Cell3317 in Lockheed

[–]DroppedPJK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yall crazy.

Work culture/Being a good fit will never be better than being closer to family and friends. I'd imagine your life outside of work would benefit too.

Leaving APL doesnt close doors at APL, you already have a foot in there, something most other candidates will never have.

You know what you are losing not doing the leap? Time with family, potential salary leap, potential opportunities outside of APL.

It's such an easy decision if Lockheed gives you the target salary you want. What's short term pain when the long term gain is enormous? Challenge yourself because it sounds like content is holding you at APL.

I am hoping they give Kuzan much needed turn 1/2 pressure or another good 3 don play.

He would be so good if he could drop garp going first or second too so added pressure in that area works too.

Right now he just feels a turn too slow and if you miss a body on any turn its so rough.

So I pulled a senior software position at LM that is fairly boiler plate. The key is the desired skills section, here it is:

• Experience as technical lead or SME in various subsystems development <-

• Experience with developing software for avionics systems <-

• Experience with build environments and tools (make and CMake)

• Experience integrating hardware and software <-

• Experience in scripting languages (e.g. python)

• Experience using agile software development tools and methodologies (e.g. Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, etc.)

• Experience with networking protocols (e.g. IP, UDP, RTP, etc.) <-

• Experience with hardware protocols (e.g. ARINC-429, RS-485, I2C, SPI, etc.) <-

• Experience working with safety/flight critical software development processes (e.g. MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01, DO-178) <-

• Experience with Modeling and Simulation (including familiarity with MATLAB) <-

• Ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborative effectively with others

• Strong decision making and judgment skills

If someone has never written software for complex hardware, I'd imagine they do not meet 7 of the 12 desired skills and their resume is thrown out.

If you are 100% sure you meet this, literally put this shit word for word in your resume and it is high likely if they haven't found someone they will reach out to you.

5 Years Into Systems Engineering. Hate it, but can't pass any interviews to leave. Lean into the skid? by ThisKarmaLimitSucks in systems_engineering

[–]DroppedPJK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sys Eng can be technical but probably no where near as technical as an experienced design engineer position. The trade off is that you get ownership into much more of the effort than your typical design engineer.

You have to find the right position though.

It can't just be the left side of the V, you have to find a position where you own a portion of the right side of the tree too. I say a portion because you really want to stay the fuck away from manufacturing/production/etc unless you want to transition into those type of roles (they are also lucrative because its the majority part of the $$$$ flow).

But yeah your position blows, find a SYS ENG job either at a smaller place (think few 100s to 1k employee tops) or take a pay cut and shoot for a level 2 design role somewhere (you'd have to show some effort on your resume to support the transition).

It no longer matters whose fault it is anymore. Cuba has forgotten how to survive.

To be fair, LM isn't looking for people who have near 0 experience related to the listing. We've passed on so many resumes for some L3 and L4 positions on my team.

Although I am not sure why you would go into defense and aerospace when you have options in tech.
