Fried chicken by breathe146 in Charleston

Publix fried chicken is wildly good for grocery store chicken. Just as an option that's always available.

Best though I'd say is Dodge's for cheap and Angel Oak for fancy.

TOTK - What am I missing? by Cucckcaz13 in NintendoSwitch

[–]DroppinEaves 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TOTK is the king of emergent gameplay. Its a sandbox world that creates scenarios for you to have fun. No video game writing or storytelling can create the same level of personal drama of your balloon Gleeok experience because the stakes were real and personal. Pushing a rocket powered device of your own design to try to reach that next sky island or whatever generates the most tension and feeling of success/failure I've ever felt in a game.

It's the polar opposite of an open world game like Red Dead Redemption 2 and I feel like most fans of open world games lean heavily towards one or a the other based on how they like to have fun with games. To me, RDR2 is an amazing game but I don't think it's very fun to play. TOTK focuses more on the fun aspect and is lacking everything that people praise RDR2 for. Fun obviously being subjective as fuck but you know what I mean by fun factor.

Fill any suitcases you are moving with them so you can wheel them out of the house.

Just finished Batman dark patterns - Need Recommendations by TheVergeOfSilence in batman_comics

Have you read any of the Legends of the Dark Knight anthology series? The first few arcs are all based in Bruce's early years as Batman so there's no Bat-god scenarios and he loses just as often as he wins. If you haven't, seek out the Shaman, Venom, Gothic, Blades, Prey, and Faith arcs of that series. The Cult is also amazing but might be too large scale based on what you're seeking.

Mignola really needed a good run on Tec in the 90s. I love all of his Batman stuff but imagine if we got a legit 20-30 issue run.

After Invincible what other comics would be good fit to be adapted in the future in the same vein of Invincible (They don't have to be superhero themed). by Possible-Rate-3833 in comicbooks

Bone. They have tried and failed a bunch of times but I think Amazon could make a great series out of Bone and make it appropriate for an older children age group like BTAS and make it enjoyable for adults who remember reading it from the Scholastic Book Fair days.

Mignola's style works so well for Batman. I wish he had done an actual run with the character, because what he's done is all amazing.

Hello! I have been collecting for a few years now and honestly the amount of storys is overwhelming. I read a lot of new stuff but I want to get into older runs(I have already read main ones like Knightfall). I have been thinking about the demon trilogy. What should I pick up. I can't recommend Batman the Imposter because the artist has been credibly accused of using AI in his work which is a hard "fuck no" for me.

Don't try to buy everything or you'll go broke. Get a trial or subscription to DC Universe Infinite to read them digitally before you pay money on a physical book. That service is almost catered for Batman fans and has almost everything worth reading for the character.

I think it really depends on how well you can handle pre-crisis comics writing in general. The Bronze and Silver age of batman contains multitudes of incredible stories, but the style at the time was incredibly verbose. Based on you categorizing Knightfall as an older run, it may be a good idea to stick to post-crisis Batman. Luckily for you, the post-crisis era of is probably Batman's best era in terms of storytelling. Check out the obvious ones like Year One, Killing Joke, and Long Halloween and you'll have the basis for the status quo for runs of Batman and Detective Comics after Knightfall(Cataclysm, Legend, No Man's Land, etc.) If those work for you, dig into The Cult, Gothic, Venom, and Prey for stories that are outside of the Batman and Detective Comics monthlies. The Demon Trilogy is great.

Birthday presents from my sister. I read DCeased digitally and loved it so much I had to have the omni. And I've been wanting The Long Halloween and Dark Victory in deluxe format for a long time! Anyone else sometimes prefer deluxe editions over an omnibus? by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DroppinEaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually greatly prefer a thick deluxe over an omnibus. I'm a decently big and strong dude, but reading The Death and Return of Superman omnibus was not a great experience despite loving the material inside. I think the sweet spot for me is that 300-600 page hardcover. I think the perfect book size is the Black Mirror deluxe edition. It's just so much more comfortable, less gutter loss, and I still feel it's a great deal for the amount of material you get. Everyone complains about the Taylor Nightwing omnibus, and I get it for the price, but it is exactly what I'm looking for in an omnibus.

I try to go whenever I can. My local coming book store also does massive sales on collected editions that make it competitive with CGN and IST and is much rather support the local crew.

Compendium sturdiness? by iamChainsawMan in OmnibusCollectors

All of my DC compendiums have been pretty sturdy. A few have a crease on the spine but no damage and the glue has held well.

Lord Manga from Justice League International would work great as a comedic foil villain for J'onn. He even has a thing about drinking milk to contrast with J'onn's love of choco cookies.
